Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the new B(C)$ Coordinator (ACC Commish) is looking at implementing the Plus One format. The idea is that two bowls will go 1-4 and 2-3 from the polls, in effect setting up a Final Four, with the two winners to face off later. A couple of issues the article raised:
1. Very good teams (such as this past year's U$C and UGA) will still be left out.
2. The Pac-10 and Big 11 are not playing ball because they believe that this scenario would ruin the sanctity of the all-mighty Rose Bowl. In theory, if the Rose holds these conferences to the contract, the Plus One bowls wouldn't work as planned.
Why can't they just do a real playoff?
BTW: if this actually flies, I'd like to see the boy band Plus One as the halftime entertainment at the first Plus One Championship Game.
