Or, would Hauck or Pflu even brought him in? He's been long gone for some time, by the way. It wasn't happening in spring ball.

At the time of his commitment to UM, Austin statistically looked like he could the the guy. Obviously, his Spring performance was not very good.

After watching him throughout the spring, I thought he was great. Had a powerful leg and was pretty dang accurate. He easily had the best kickoff of the spring game going about 6 yards deep in the EZ. 6 kickers, 7 QBs. Unfortunately, those positions require only ONE player. Recruiting a bunch of 'em and hoping one can play, rarely works.

I actually thought his JC stats in 2015 were pretty underwhelming. Long of 37. 64% made, which must have been 9 for 14. 30-33 on extra points.

As far as kicker goes, that actually sounds like a great strategy. QB yeah you need to be thorough and confident in who you choose (Gresch Jensen), but also get an insurance policy (Bea).

I had a chance to meet him while he was still in Missoula, a very humble and well spoken kid who had huge aspirations to help the Griz this year. Also mentioned that he wasn't cut or let go by the staff but he left on his own terms and said he is still on good terms with the staff and has the upmost respect for the Griz coaches.
