Def take in and enjoy the local craft beer scene as well !!!! Great breweries here in Missoula and def listen to Griz fan podcast on the drive down!!!!UPDATE:
I made it to/through Glacier NP and exiting at Apgar in next half hour, then dinner/lodging at Columbia Falls tonight.
Thank you to a bunch of y'all for help above and in PMs. I'll be on campus early, in a faded purple LSU hat and be looking to make more friends and find y'all from above replies.
BTW, I've been to 50 states, 8 Canadian provinces, and ~38 countries and I can honestly say I might have seen the most breathtaking view of my entire life TODAY. Montana should be immensely proud of the magnificent Glacier National Park!
Thanks for letting me preach (or ramble).
Geaux Griz!
P.S. any Griz AM radio station talking football this evening?
I’ll give you a ticket.Good day Grizzlies! I'm on a circuitous path to Missoula for Labor Day weekend (ultimately driving from Calgary to Baton Rouge) and I'm fortunate to have set the route of the journey to include the Missouri State at Montana game that Saturday night. To simplify my request on here, for opening night at Washington-Grizzly Stadium, I was hoping to...
"e-meet" a few fans in advance of the game, learn the Griz tailgating situation and maybe even score a tailgating invite or a campus walking tour.
If you care to know a bit more about me...
53 year old former space shuttle engineer (and ISS flight controller)
currently living in Louisiana but spending the dog days of summer in Calgary and Banff
huge college football fan - I think I've been to games in 67 stadiums
went on a 29 game CFB road-trip in 2011
currently in technical sales for fire departments (and occasionally SWAT)
made it to my 50th state on my 50th birthday
1998 LSU Mechanical Engineering
(further study at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical U)
Thanks in advance, for any tips, invites, suggestions, etc. I'll obviously be looking to buy a game ticket as well.

I’m so excited for you to experience WaGriz. I can’t wait to hear about your experience. I have a friend that is a lifelong LSU fan, growing up in south Louisiana. I’ve had discussions with him about Montana football and our home game atmosphere and it would be great to hear from someone who can compare both side by side.Heading to campus now. I have bought a ticket already but thank you for the kind offer!!

Enjoy the game
It would be a shame if some deranged fans smoking marijuana cigarettes lifted up their haunches and ripped super wet phatties right in his face. A real shame.I’m fearing another Pantera story…
He’s actually a great guy, hung out at our tailgate and sat with some of our group during the game.Y'all been played for this clowns amusement.
No we're not. He bought one of my tickets and sat next to me most of the game. Super nice guy and very complimentary of his experience here.Y'all been played for this clowns amusement.

what. the actual. FUCK. are you talking about? did he maybe rendezvous with mrs belker while detective belker was walking the beat? is that where this hard hitting detective work is coming from? no stone left unturned, mick. good police work.He found eGriz, eGriz was not lookin' for him. He writes his lengthy intro to explain himself, then another four posts on his travel exploits. Glad he had a good time with some of you, I wouldn't have expected anything less.
Then, he gets on his horse and skedaddles out of Dodge like a wanted man, and gets to Denver, a 900 mile drive. In my prime, I needed to stop about every two hours(about 150 miles or so)to stretch, get something to eat/drink, gas up, and tinkle. That's about six stops on a trip this long.
Maybe he's Superman or has the bladder of a Fire Truck, but he could take 5-10 min of his precious time to thank his gracious hosts and expound on his experiences in Missoula. He has acted very entitled, IMO. Of course, he is probably playing the same game in his 'Travels with Charley' exploits for each of his planned stops.
Maybe he's the reincarnation of John Steinbeck.
