It was so quiet, I heard a kid in the stands say, "I love the UNI Panthers, and I couldn't be happier with my decision".
I wonder if that was one of the kids that Big Dog hit with a D cell battery? Sounds like he must have been concussed.

To wrap our conversation & my weekend, let me just say that like Montana does with toys in November, UUNI has a yearly batteries and VHS tape drive that occurred this past Saturday. Coincidence? I think not. So as I entered the stadium with our hosts, I handed over my sleeves of Kirkland D-cells. All but one battery I pinched as I dropped them in the drum.

I'm writing Kent this week to suggest we do the same next September when UUNI shows up @ WaGriz. Bastards.
This would simplify matters for me. I only give batteries to the annual toy drive. Triple A's of course.

Attendance figures and actual pictures of the crowd sometimes don't match up. I am thinking Idaho in particular, but it applies generally. Idaho can hardly give the tickets away, but counts tickets passed out as attendance. Doesn't UM count anyone coming through the gates, including those working the event? Pictures of people in the seats are hard to dispute.

This is from the SFA game. Doesn't look like many empty seats to me.

Judging a Griz home attendance from a random picture means nothing. So many "ticket buyers" come and go and less than half watch the entire game (with the open gate policy),so how can any picture tell you anything? While, I do not believe basketball attendance numbers what-so-ever, I don't doubt football "tickets sold", which is what you always read. UM NEVER announces a true "Attendance" for any of the main 3 sports, it's "tickets distributed", don't ever forget that.

Well, this picture pretty clearly tells me that there were a lot of people in attendance and not many empty seats which would validate the fact that there were a lot of people there.

If a picture of the actual game with actual butts in the seats in the picture doesn't show you what the attendance really looked like, then I don't know what to tell you. It doesn't matter if ticket holders "come and go". If they are in the stadium at any point, they count as in attendance.

As the photo shows, there were lots of people at the game, especially in the first half. As usual, the stadium lost lots of people at halftime. I thought fewer people came back after halftime (say by beyond half way thru the 3d quarter) than usual. As the game went on and it got late, the crowd dwindled--much more so than any game I recall. I have never been too excited about night games for various reasons, and a night game starting at 7 is too late for many people.

I think this is correct, a bit more than normal didn't come back, but also at the end of the game there were more people there than I expected due to how close the game was. I wonder if a "lower" level opponent on Labor Day weekend contributed to this, as people expected a blowout so went for first half then left? I have to say I was surprised how tired I was on Sunday - don't remember that from last year (but it was colder that say) or the App State game a few years ago, so probably just me getting older, but unless it is a nationally televised game I would rather have a 5:00 or 6:00 start

How many potential recruits could not look at that and say "that's where I want to be?"
