This sounds like an opportunity for the GRIZ to market the program all over the state. I am not sure what the rules are, but I would do everything possible within the rules to get every HS player in the state there for the NAU game. Give the tickets away, work out a deal with all the High Schools in the tournaments and from the surrounding area. Have someone with university make arrangements to meet the players, tour the facilities, etc. Basically go all out to get some attention and maybe even get the younger players inspire to become GRIZ, ALA what our program has become. Most every boy that plays football now wants to be a GRIZ, or in some cases a Cat.
Market this game as rules allow, and put this program in the forefront of Montana HS basketball. Maybe even have the coaches have a community forum to tell these kids what it takes to be a GRIZ and challenge them to work toward becoming one.
I hope the game draws at least 5,000 somehow. I will be cheering as loud as anyone. Too bad it will be 950 miles away.
