There is no way the announced 2017 average attendance figure (23,535) reflects the actual attendance in 2017. Last year was the worst year I can remember in terms of empty seats. This year was much better and I would guess and average of at least a couple of thousand more were present for each game. Hopefully, the struggles this year won't adversely affect attendance next year.

Doesn't account for about 7,000 more fans, tho. Having lowly PSU for a Homecoming game wasn't exactly a great draw, altho attendance was fine. Drake was not a big draw.

Hauck's return, related excitement and the improved style of play of the team helped attendance. Crowd noise and excitement was much better all year this year.
