Attendance, not Mick's boogers

The biggest story today is not Mike Kramer's battery against one of his once receivers; it is not the pathetic Idaho State pass defense; it is not Mick Delaney eating his own boogers; it is not PR sniffing Peter Fumbles jock strap (speaking metaphorically); it is not Brint trying to tweet at the football players so that he can feel like part of the team even though he is a middle aged real estate agent (speaking literally). Instead, it is the lack of support that our Montana boys have today in the stands. There are more empty seats than I have seen in years.

Looks like the bandwagon fans have finally jumped ship. I say good riddance.

If I was not busy opening my restaurant in the NYC, and drinking Armand de Brignac Nebuchadnezzars, I would be in the NEZ screaming at the top of my lungs in my custom tailored Carhart overalls.

I got to tell you, Highway 200 to Missoula from Gt. Falls was crappy, and I should have stayed home. I ended up in the ditch outside of Lincoln (the slush got me). $600 lighter and a tow truck later, I limped my way back home, licking my wounds. Don't talk to me about "Bandwagon Jumpers." Some people are just smarter than me. It seems that some are better drivers also.

I hope no one was injured, dsprout! Screw the money, it's just money.

Checked the Alabama game late, it was a blowout too, the stadium was nearly empty - 'Bama fans must suck too.

I watch it until the satellite feed goes dark, every Saturday because they are the Griz. The empty stands made me mad. Shit heads.

ISU would be hard pressed to beat the Portland civic league champ this year...

What does that have to do with our terrible fan-base? Mods please ban this loser.

Pretty sure that NEZ would not let you in drinking that, what ever it is.

"in the NYC?"...It's a big city. Where do I stop by for my comp drinks... in Manhattan, Soho, Tribeca or The Village? Leave the schtick to "Ashley Schaeffer." At least he's semi-amusing.

At the start of the game, my buddy Moose and I put the actual number of butts in seats to be around 22,500. Take this for Gospel, as I trained under rainman..

The NEZ sucked. Most overrated cheering section in Subdivision sports.

FACT: There was a much larger percent of the crowd still in the stands at the end of the Cats blowout than there were for the Griz blowout...Lord D's attendance yardstick for gauging fan interest is bogus. Most of us who've ever hung around Wa-Griz inside -and outside at tailgating have long suspected that for many "fans" Griz games are primarily an excuse for socializing. 18,000 empty seats masquerading
as fans after halftime and the mass early departures should be your first clue...There are 'fans" then there are fans.

The NEZ was better today than it has been all season. Weed out the fairweathers and the fans that are just there for the social event and you have a pretty loud rowdy crowd.

There was a kid sitting a row behind me Section 233B. He couldn't have been more than 10 years old, and I would put his "voice", and loudness up against ANYONE in the NEZ!

He knew when to make noise! When that time came, he did it with ferocity and max volume, and he kept it up the entire game!

Sometime in the 3rd Quarter, I gave him a fist bump, and said: "Thanks for bringin' the noise, big man!". His response to me: "Thank you, sir! I love this!".

Made my heart proud! This kid's parents raised him right! :thumb:

Easy Jerry.

I love bandwagon fans. They keep those at the top on their heels. That's why earlier I feared we would become the Cubs. When %100 of fans show up win or lose there is no pressure on those at the top to keep the winning tradition. They pay less for coaches and right on down the line to things like facilities. It's all about the money. We start losing money and the hammer will fall.
