Looks like Kroys run in Atl might be nearing its end. Players signed and drafted to replace him. Needs to step up to keep his playing time.

Kroy probably prepared for this day. After all, he is a UM grad. My question is how his wife will adjust to his being head football coach at Hardin, etc., or an asst. at UM.

If he gets cut,I wonder if another team would pick Kroy up as a role player to add depth.

I rather suspect Kroy will get cut, given the circumstances. If that does happen, however, I think he will get picked up somewhere. Two things in his favor: While he's not ancient, he's been around long enough to add a bit of "veteran" thinking to a locker room, especially if they have a lot of young players. Second, his work ethic would juice up a team where the regulars have gotten a bit complacent. If the team combines complacency with some number of younger players ... all the better.

His biggest asset is his versatility. Like other players who played under Hauck, he is also a very good special teams player. Futher, he is also a very smart football player and a good leader, which is an asset to have when you have a coaching change. Unless he underperforms in the pre-season, I don't see him getting cut. Worst case scenario, he gets waived and picked up by another team at a much lower salary.

Why do you re-sign a player, give him a raise, then cut him? I think he will remain a steadfast in Atlanta for at least three more years, barring injury...

Hmmm, does not look to me like he got a raise. This article http://www.thefalcoholic.com/2015/3...-biermanns-one-year-contract-with-the-falcons
says he took a major hit. According to the Tweet linked into the article, Kroy new contract is for just under $2 million, with a $500,000 signing bonus. And the writer seems to think even that is too much:

Biermann's contract is more than the veteran minimum, which I anticipated, but it is significantly less than the $4 million ($3.05 salary, $1 million signing bonus) he made in 2014. The money is a mild surprise given that no one was sure Biermann was coming back as a true reserve or not.

My bad, I took the signing bonus as a raise...oops!
