Good grief.

Holy Cross at 5??

Idaho at 7??

Davis at 14??

And Sac all the way down at 15??

And I know it will be taken as smack, but the cats ain't finishing third with their road schedule. Much like the GRIZ last year, their difficult bsc games are on the road.

I do not believe the Idahype.

I honestly think UC Davis was a better team last year and will be again this year.

I agree with both. Idaho made a huge leap in year one of Eck. They are on the upswing for sure.

Idaho is one of those schools that turned to the atgletic staffs of the most dominant programs in FCS for its football future.
Those schools do seem to improve rapidly.

The Vandals will be better in year two than year one.

I think 10 is an appropriate starting spot. NDSU at 2 is fine for now but they've got a tough schedule and I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose 2-3 regular season games.

Polls.
Typical. They are good for some things, though. You can put it on a roll and use it for something useful. :shit:

While you may be right, at least its some FCS football stuff to kick around.

We will see. I have a feeling they will take a hit. Lots of teams randomly will be good 1 year and fall off again. We will see what Idaho can do but, I don't think they'll make the playoffs.

Agreed 100%. And Sac at 15 may be too high.

Eck's a good coach.

Theyve got the best receiving tandem in the conference, if not the whole of the division. Looks like they've got a feature back. The kid QB is heady, and an accurate passer that drives an offense specifically designed to minimize the other team's possessions. Not much not to like about their chances with the ball.

No idea if their additions to the defense will pan out, but again, Eck's a good coach. And barring a visit from our old friend, catastrophic injury, I'd expect the spuds to be more than worthy contenders for the conference title and a playoff seed.

Idaho returns too much of that offense for me to think they will fall off. Everyone will be more ready for their clock management offense this upcoming year, but they return two 1,000 yard receivers and the freshman of the year at QB.

Seems like the new clock rules really play in their favor as well.

You're forgetting the inevitable sophomore jinx.

I must have totally missed that. What are the new clock rules?

“Under the new rules, the game clock will continue to run when a first down is gained. The game clock will be stopped when a first down is gained during the last two minutes of either half. Previously, the game clock stopped when a first down was gained, and the clock restarted when the offense was awarded a first down.”

This is where I am as well. It will be interesting to see where the conference coaches rank them.
