ASU vs WIS

His knee was down you see it in the replay.

Are you being serious right now? I did not see a knee down at all. Also, what was the plan there? No time-outs left and a run runs the clock.

Well I feel like a jackoff. I stand corrected, thanks. Good find. Bungle in the desert.

Lesson learned: hand the damn ball to the official.

And then hope he spots it in time for you to spike it with less than 15 seconds left so you can kick a short, game winning FG from the middle of the field instead of the right side of the field. Or maybe just kick the FG from the right side?

I still want Van and Canada to employ the "give myself up" thing if/when they fumble. Seems like a great rule of which can take advantage.

His knee was down you see it in the replay. ASU laying on the ball takes 10 seconds while the clock runs and Wisconsin stands around looking like idiots. Refs should have stopped the clock or flagged ASUnfor a delay of game. But Wisconsin players and coaches have to be smarter than that.... Sheesh

Exactly, i haven't watched the replay so i didn't see his knee but either way.

A page from the Jason Garet play book :D
His knee was never down.

In all seriousness, I watched that video clip at least 20 times and never see him kneel...weird.

I thought the rule was that if the ball carrier touches the ball to the field that it is ruled down and the play is over. I was for ASU, too, but Wisconsin clearly got scr**ed. Delay of game should have been called when the ASU player wouldn't give up the ball. Those refs should be out of a job.

When he reached the center of the field, [Wis QB] Stave bumped into right guard Ryan Groy and abruptly realized he should take a knee. Stave's reaction was uncertain, and his kneel down attempt was undeniably poor. Instead of firmly planting his knee in the ground, Stave popped right up and placed the ball on the ground for the referee to spot.

Sun Devil coach Todd Graham saw Stave's quick kneel down and is far from convinced that the Wisconsin quarterback should have been ruled down.

Did Stave's knee touch the ground? There's photographic evidence that shows Stave's knee on the ground, but the photograph is not completely conclusive.

Prior to this debacle, Wisconsin wide receiver Jeff Duckworth appeared to step out of bounds around his own 35-yard line on a 51-yard reception. The evidence that Duckworth stepped out appears as strong as the evidence that Stave's knee touched the ground. The referees decided that the evidence on Duckworth's reception was inconclusive. --SBNation

Good guys win.

So in the NFL the QB will just spike the ball, which is a very clear decisive action.... Can College QB's not spike the ball to "give up"? or is it against ncaa rules to spike the ball?

photoshop lol........
