Cat logic 1 for 7 is a win....

In what way?

I think he's referring to how cat fans considered their 5-6 season in 2015 as a 'win'. You know, quality losses and all that...

It is positive that MSU seems to be building towards a strong or very strong program, is winning more games, is playing multiple good teams very closely, is seeming to be bringing in some good players, and has good coaches. Why don't you compare the schedules and results last fall, and substitute out 2 of the UM easy non-conference games and pencil in So Dak St and Kenn St (4 and 2 point losses for the Cats), and then re-consider UM's results. Also, how do you explain the head to head result? It's looks to me that you are gloating because UM had an easier schedule than MSU did.

And, UM has slid down a long ways since Hauck, and then Pflu's second season, and then Delaney's last 2 years. Are you excited about that? Does it make you feel good that UM was 7-4 and MSU was 5-6 and beat UM? Does this give you something to crow about?

Perhaps MSU should have been selected for the playoffs then. Instead of all those soft 10-1 teams from shitty conferences.

Hey, Askelson is an engineering major. End of story - he would be nuts to not got to MSU or Tech. We will lose a lot of recruiting battles with MSU over engineering majors, even though most of them won't be engineering majors after the first semester.

It's like the good old days when half of UM's freshmen wanted to be forestry majors until they took their first science course. Today, nobody believes that there are any jobs in forestry so we have lost that advantage.

Except perhaps at the margins, I am fine with how selections are done. I like giving auto-bids to many conferences, just like is done in ncaa hoops. The goal isn't to have the top 24 teams, and I support that. It is true that sometimes the number 2 team, with a great record in a weak conference, gets in over a team that has been beaten up in a strong conference even though that team is good.

I wouldn't want playoffs where all but 6 teams were from the MV, CAA, and Big Sky. I like to see what happens in the early rounds. Often predictable, but not always.

You guys do know he’s referring to recruiting class and not team record that year, right?

I’m not saying I feel this way necessarily, but his point is that the 2015 Griz MT class was great on paper but a lot has changed. Everyone thought the Cat MT class wasn’t as good. Now a couple years later, the Cats have more kids from that class that are playing and contributing to the team than the Griz have from that class.

No I dont have specific examples in front of me without looking it up, but I know it’s been discussed either here or on BN recently.

I’m at work right now and shouldn’t be posting all this anyway so can’t really do the research for it right now...

Deep breathes bud. I'm well aware of what they're building in Bozeman, not worried about it now that we have Hauck at the helm. With Stitt here I was.
