Ash to Idaho?

The last thing the Griz need is Petrino as their coach.

In addition to being a UM alum I am also a Louisville alum. Since he left there I have lost a lot of respect for the guy. I don't think we have to worry about him coming to the Griz. He seems to always be looking to the next bigger job. The grass always seems greener on the other side with that guy. Before the Arkansas thing and the leaving the Falcons he told Louisville that he had no interest in leaving and behind the AD's back he flew to Auburn to have a secret meeting about becoming their coach. His ambition is the pennacle of college football. It is SEC all the way with him. ESPN radio remarked today that Kentucky may be looking at him. These rumors about him wanting to coach at Montana are crazy.

I can't see Ash leaving MSU for Idaho -- too many good things for him there and Idaho is a cess-pool but maybe with a little cash.

Can't see Petrino at UM -- too much bagge after what we've been thru -- BUT, if Van Diest wants to leave again, Bobby might could get the Carroll job, unless his old man left some stuff in the closet.

And maybe Kramer gets Idaho this time --- no, no, no.. Bobby gets Idaho, has Kramer join him as asst HC and DC, because Bobby runs offense!
Petrino not coming to UM isn't because of his baggage, it's because he will be interviewing for head coaching jobs at schools like Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Auburn. Worst case scenario he gets hired by a good mid-major program like Louisiana Tech after their coach gets a better job.

Your post makes sense, except for one thing. I read an interview Petrino gave and it was clear the dude was lost. I mean spiritually and emotionally with a moral compass that was trying to find north. Possibly ( I am cynical) he is changing as a human being. Trying to become a man again with some priorities and moral convictions. Coaching at Montana may be on his radar and his family might be pushing him to consider it. Should the Griz hire him? My vote is hell no! I for one am tired of coaches using the program as a spring board.

It is for certain Ash will leave if Idaho comes up with the right deal.

More money. Better climate. Nicer fan base. Texans will come to help him build. Nice little town. Close to big town, has wife must shop.

I hope he stays in frigid Bozeman. He will always choke in big games, well, until he quits!

Really? Are you thinking Moscow, Idaho or Moscow, Russia?

This thread is beginning to sound alot like Harry Fritz's old lecture on "What Drove Merriweather Lewis Crazy" Let's see how many of you remember what that was?

STD that traveled to the head.

I remember Harry, just did't remember the answer. Operant word here is remember, pretty much sums it up. Used to say I'm getting old, well, I've arrived.

I really hope Ash goes to Idaho. I am sick of hearing him say "hat on a hat" in every interview he has ever had. Oh and he is 61 born July 9, 1951 according to Wikipedia.

I love all these fizz fans praying that Ash leaves MSU :thumb:

Well, it makes sense. We hate them as much as we do you (although they're at least competitive against us), so we'd love them to experience that total WTF bewildered look he always has when he plays the Griz.
