If the Bobcats want to keep pace with Eastern Washington and Montana, then it wouldn’t hurt to schedule like their rivals do. I’m not sure if high school recruits pay attention to strength of schedules, but they’re doing something right in Missoula and Cheney.
The sequencing is incorrect. The reason for them buying out is the same as the reason they suck. Or wait did I get that wrong too? F****EverettGriz said:It cracks me up that the article seems to suggest that the reason that cats suck is because of this buyout.
Nah, they pretty much just suck.

On the other side, I have lost all faith in having a tough non conference schedule when you are already playing in a tough conference. NDSU's schedule is easily the toughest schedule in the FCS this year. Is there another team in the FCS who could have made it through their first 3 games without a loss? Charleston Southern (ranked 6th), EWU (ranked 3rd), and Iowa (ranked 11th in the FBS at the time). What has that done for them? They lost against SDSU with 1 second left to play and are now ranked 4th. Sam Houston and JSU have both played a cupcake schedule. If the season were to play out with Sam Houston, JSU and NDSU winning out, I guarantee you they will receive a higher seed than NDSU. Look at the last 5 years of seeding. The playoff committee will continuously award teams for playing nobody and punish the teams who play a tough non conference schedule.
I just don't see the point anymore in playing a tough non conference schedule. Does nothing to help your cause come playoff time and creates a lot of extra wear and tear on your players. If the FCS playoff committee would actually respect strength of schedule, I would be all about it but from a standpoint of playoff positioning, it has proven to do nothing for you.
