Article on Boise Tourney

Drove from Zootown to Boise today down Hwy 93, to Hwy 26, to Hwy 20 then I84 and it took a lil over 7 hours. Roads were dry the whole way. No big deal for a 406er 👍

I still contend that 8 hours all interstate is a pretty easy drive if the weather is OK. I would do that vs. going through the panhandle any day, but that's just me. Then again I lived in Eastern MT so 8 hours was a conference road game for my kids :)

Going the long way may be easier driving but it isn't exactly easy. It will likely be longer than 8 hours. Especially if it is closed.

Speed Limit is 80 all the way with the exception of a few miles around Butte, Idaho Falls and Pocatello. 597 miles divided by 75 MPH average is 7.96. I guarantee you I can drive that in under 8 if the roads are good. If you can't you're not a normal Montana driver, or you're a girl :)

Yes but it has closed at times due to bad winter conditions and when it is icy anybody driving 75 mph is stupid.

It's got to be a nightmare trying to get a tournament together on short notice once you find out who has the top seed. Especially if, god forbid, it ever ends up in Greeley or Cheney or Bozeman.

But if UM hosts, as it should (always) be, Missoula will order more alcohol and get ready to put on a great party.

Drove yesterday from Butte. Roads dry the whole way. Took I15 to Dubois then cut off west on the two lanes through Arco. Scenic, no traffic, easy.

Good move, given that the weather was good and you had the time. The freeway route is longer, but so much faster that you do save some time. But the freeway route is just what you'd expect .. borrring.

What, none of you like driving though craters of the moon?
Well, driving by C of the M is still better than the freeway, by and large. :)

Actually, a stop there, if you have the time for a hike, is not bad.
