I disagree with Alpha almost always, but sometimes not. I also think he adds color to eGriz. If I decide to no longer read his posts, I will just block him. I've heard he is a decent guy and respect the fact that he at least doesn't try to pretend his comments are not sexist, like Granite, who is clearly uncomfortable w/ women but tries to mask it by other, nonsensical attacks. It's just silly. I do wonder if Alpha realizes how many women and children truly suffer, are beaten, abused and left homeless or dead due to that whole "get in the kitchen, make me a sandwich" mentality of some men. I don't think he is an abuser tho, just oblivious to the implications of his words. My ex (former full time eGrizzer) used to proclaim himself a woman-hater too. He is now in prison due to a secret life as a child molester. Most who knew him called him a "good guy".kurtismichael said:I haven't read much of the interaction between you and Granite, so other than my first post, I'll stay out of that tussle.
I've read eGriz since around 2003/3004 and posted on here since the end of 2008. I think Alpha is a good guy. See his post to the Coulter family on today's thread. I met him and shaken his hand and you know what he seemed like a pretty cool guy. Do I agree with everything he posts, no. I'm totally sure he doesn't agree with half or more of what I post. If he doesn't like it he can sling anything at me on here, but it doesn't bother me because I have a lot thicker skin on this place than I do in the real world. Is Alpha perfect, no (although he would probably disagree). Is some of his posts over the top, yes. But eGriz would be a lot more dull if Alpha wasn't here. Guy is also pretty knowledgable about football, although he posts more actual football insight on maroonblood.
I don't mind a female posting on eGrizz. It is nice to talk to a woman who loves the game. So I say keep posting. Anyone who doesn't like it can choose to put you on their ignore list like Granite did or vice versa. I believe some of the remarks about you having an agenda probably stemmed from your thread of October 17th about sexual assault and eGriz.
"I am passionate about both sides of this issue. I want to get eGriz and the Athletic Dept at UM involved with my efforts, and work equally hard to squash stereotypes about Griz Athletes and fans. Your thoughts?"
Some people equate agenda as a bad thing, but all humans have agendas. Yours isn't bad, but in reality a lot of eGrizzers will probably react negatively to it anyway. I'll continue to read everyone's posts on here except Wolfman_Jack and Growler1, those two guys (or one guy depending on what you believe) piss me off to much.

As for my agenda, I have had great response and communication w/ the AD and those with a "name" here on eGriz. My goal is simply to help fix the reputation of the good guys posting on here.

I specifically said that I don't think you are an abuser, Alpha, just likely unaware of how dangerous the things you say are - that there are women and children dead, beaten, homeless, traumatized by people who use your joking words (giving you the benefit of the doubt by not taking you seriously) and mean them. I agreed that you are probably not a bad guy, as you like to present yourself and despite the horribly mean personal attacks you make on others.ALPHAGRIZ1 said:Wow...............now I am not going to get any sleep tonight because people may not think I am a good guy or a racist or a woman hater and like the skirt said now I am a child molester.
Oh wait!.....thats right I dont give a damn if anyone thinks I am any of the above. I know who I am and I am the only one I need to impress.
You guys are lucky I got a sandwich just now from some chick who is too stupid to tie her own shoes or I would have went off on a rant about something or other.

Sorry to hear about your ex, probably the worst thing you can find out about a spouse or relative.
