Figured I'd start a new thread rather than keep adding to the "Upset Guesses" thing.

Illinois State is putting it to #25 Eastern Illinois, 21-6 at the half. (I didn't think EIU, at 0-2, should be ranked anyway, so no problemo ... )

Fordham is up 17-0 over RI, with little time left in the half.

Maine and Bryant are at the half with Maine up 10-6.

Towson seems to have its hands full with Delaware State ... into Q2 and they have only scored a FG.

OMG! Delaware State scored and went into the half leading Towson, 7-3. Granted, Towson is not ranked, but they are supposed to be one of the CAA "big shots," so it's cool that D-State is more than hanging in there.

BTW, Illinois State is still leading Eastern, 24-13.

That was so last year...

Okay ... you got me.

Illinois State just scored again to go ahead 31-13. That "upset" is looking more and more likely.

Edit: Fordham is killing Rhode Island, 33-zip.

Among the former FCS'ers playing in the FBS....Boise State beats Connecticut 38-21 and Georgia Southern gives up last second TD to Georgia Tech losing 42-38...

Ga So has shown much better than App St

Two upsets so far among the lower-tier of ranked teams:
#25 Eastern Illinois lost to Illinois State, 34-15
#23 Maine lost to Bryant, 13-10.

#7 New Hampshire currently having no trouble with Lehigh, 15-0.

#21 Youngstown State losing to Butler, 3-7 ... but it's early.

Indiana States looks like it will go into halftime leading FBS Ball State 17-14.

All these later games going as expected ... although Grambling did have the lead against Bethune-Cookman for awhile. Not over yet, but I expect Grambling has shot its wad.

Indiana State did beat FBS Ball State, 27-20, so congrats to them.

Took NDSU about 14 seconds to score.

Are they playing Immaculate Conception or whatever the f they're called today?

Incarnate Word is not good at all......very little depth, especially on the defensive side of the ball. After watching UIW play this afternoon, it's obvious they have much work to do. I also watched UND's performance against Robert Morris last week.....that wasn't impressive either. In fact, a game between UIW and UND would be a "pick'em" game I suspect. No clear cut favorite on either side. I suppose the favorite would be whoever had the home field advantage. Unfortunately for the Bison, they have a Incarnate Word type game, again, next year..... that being the Whioux.

Just three upsets among the ranked teams so far, but Furman is having an amazing amount of trouble with unranked Presbyterian. (I think Furman will win, but they are letting their opponent hang around way too much.)

Edit: Yep. Presbyterian scored to take the lead 10-7. Lots of time left, but they seem to have the momentum now.

Gettin' frazzled watching the Griz and trying to keep track of other FCS.

Furman did let Presbyterian hang around too long -- P wins 10-7, so #12 furman goes down.

FWIW, Abilene Christian beat FBS Troy 38-35.

I don't think the win by Bryant over Maine was a big upset. They beat a good Stony Brook team a couple of weeks before. They are the sleeper team in the east. Great program they have.

The funny thing is that the team that the UN_ team barely squeaked by last week in a 16-13 game just got curb stomped by a lafayette team from the Patriot League 50-3. The Leopards held the Colonials to 108 total yards and 4 first downs for the game. The University Presidents of the BSC must have really wanted a cellar dweller for the BSC when they picked up the whioux
