He is not coming here this year: this posted on facebook.

Some of y'all might know but I decided not to go to The University of Montana this year.. I decided to do Junior College for a year to get my knee back to full strength and to ease back into my first season back from my injury... I also feel like it is a great opportunity to get a lot of full ride scholarships that I missed out on because of my knee injury... I want to thank all the coaches and fans that supported me from Montana! It was not an easy decision but I have a great relationship with Coach Green and this will be a tough decision for me to pick between the schools I will sign with. It was my dream to play big time football and it will be hard to pick between other D1 teams and Montana.. But there is a good possibility I will take one of my official visits to Montana! Thank you to everybody who stood by me and I promise you this is not the last you will hear of me. I will be doing big things! So keep following for when I sign with a school.. This really is the best decision for me. Good luck to the guys on Montana and I know your gonna kill it! Good luck to my lil bro Johnny Nguyen your gonna ball! God has blessed me with this opportunity and I'll be back on top. Bigger, stronger, faster, and a better knee then before!

That's really too bad. His work ethic appears to be unmatched for an incoming freshman. I wish him the best, sky's the limit and I hope he finds his way back to the stadium nestled at the foot of Mount Sentinel.

I'm bummed, but respect the kid for his decision. It sounds like he put a lot of thought into it. Hopefully he can rehab some more over the next year and the Griz will have a scholarship for him in the future. I was really lookin forward to seeing the Griz utilize him in a De'Anthony Thomas type role. I hope to see him in maroon and silver in the future.

We're not running that offense anymore. Wouldn't be surprised if that's why he changed his mind.

By that role I mean a receiver/running back hybrid. Not a specific offense.

FWIW my thought on this may be a little off base but I am wondering if the decision has to do with the loss of scholarships in the future. If my memory serves me right Ari had mentioned picking up a scholarship early upon his arrival. However if we are losing scholarships maybe we are in a wait and see mode to determine how well his knee has recovered rather than take a chance on him. Just a thought as each scholarship decision will be a little tougher to make as fewer scholarships make the existing ones more valuable and the evaluation of recipients more crucial.

Think this is spot on.

Scholarship reduction doesn't come in until next year though. I truly believe he wants a PAC12 offer.

His reasons were purely financial. He wanted to be a Griz in the worst way. Trust me when I say him not leaving in two weeks like he originally thought he would be was devastating for him. But he doesn't cry about stuff. He gets his boots on and lets them fly. He looks at what he's got and makes the best of it...just like his injury. That couldn't stop him either. :)

Even so, it still is something the program has to start planning for right now and does have an influence.

I for one hope you provide us updates on his season as it progresses. I wish Ari the best. I hope he ends up a GRIZ when all is said and done. :thumb:

with his faith and work ethic, ari may very well be in the pac 12,,,having said that, I hope he ends up a griz, as we can use a lot more kids with his resolve...

Best of luck to him but it sounds like he feels he settled for Montana and if he can get his knee close to 100% and play well in JC he can get BCS offer rather than FCS.
