It's great to see you back in midseason form, HHB. :thumb:

eGriz hates a realistic view.

Totally. I keep saying if we lose a bunch of games from here on out, we could miss the playoffs. But these pedestrian fans don't want to hear it. Seems like they're hopeful or something. Losers.

This team still ends up with a seed, and still quite possibly a top 4 seed.

If this team loses to the Cats, they could be 4th in the BSC. As for a top 4, they will need lots of help.

So you're suggesting a 9-2 GRIZ team with a win over Washington doesn't get a top 8 seed? Or a 10-1 GRIZ team with a one-score loss to ewoo on the road doesn't get a top 4 seed?

if they did lose to the bobs (gawd forbid), the committee might only consider the first game of the season as a "quality win", but 9-2 or whatever would still probably be a top 8 seed, unless they lost to the bobs, and the bobs lost to a bunch of other teams before cat-griz. then again, so far they've only lost to a top ten team, by inches, and i doubt all the negative scenarios that people dream up (after every single loss) will happen.

Some of these injuries being speculated on being out for the year I am not is totally accurate. Heard conflicting information on the extent of the injuries. Typical Egriz to hit the panic button.

Well, a 9-2 Griz team could finish 4th in the BSC. You could also have multiple undefeated teams. I also didn't say they couldn't be a seed.

Egriz likes to overreact. This season is a work in progress. Every team in the FCS is vulnerable to injuries, and the great teams can overcome them. Not one of the Griz players thinks the season is lost, but apparently all is lost, according to some posters. Next man up. This is a great team, and will they will prove it as the season goes on!
Go Griz!

Most of our really good NC caliber teams took one on the chin along the way and dealt with injuries that enabled new talent to emerge. They came out better. It's our upcoming opponents that are screwed.

had that last pass been caught the same naysayers would be screaming bring on 'Bama.........

I would feel the same either way, that this team could be really really special if the offense gets more consistent.

Were we screwed when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? No.
Were we screwed when the Russians took down the towers? No.
Were we screwed when the Salmon came back to Capistrano? No.
Are we screwed now? Maybe. But, I think No.

Mmmmmm...I think you're wrong about #3. :| :|

NOt salmon, but illegal immigrants on their way to scare the folks in Big Sky.

So, let's take a trip back in time to Kris Brown's Bozeman High state champion senior season: 2,843 yards 31 TD, 499 rush yards 4 TD 120 QB rate

Now, granted D1 football is a tad harder, but when this kid gets his game time in over the next few games, the Griz are not screwed.

I like the way you think. I also agree that DI football is a tad different than Montana HS football. Just a tad, lol. I think he will do well. Nobody who gets to that level is gun shy about a challenge. Just my opinion…

Thanks CDA. Yep, D1 is hard but there have been a number of Montana Sate champion high school QBs go on to have fairly decent D1 careers.

I was going to post this on Sunday, but, for what it’s worth:

And a kid with numbers better than that and a Gatorade POY trophy in his room is currently a 3rd string linebacker.

Bingo. I would have bet money on Rostadt competing for a QB roster spot. Highschool numbers almost mean squat.

I thought that in spring ball.
