Are Griz Offense players Making Stitt look like a genius?

I realize last two opponents were not stellar, but sure looks like the game has slowed down for Brady. He is making great reads all over the field and maybe this is exactly what Stitt's offense is supposed to be like. I also thin oline is playing way better and the stable of receivers are all blocking very well. Knock on wood that this is not just due to far weaker opponents.

I thought this same thing too at the end of last season, then the second half of the SDSU game and the NDSU game happened. But I'm still hopeful. It's just too bad that we won't see a real defense until the playoffs besides the UNI defense that made us look silly. MSU might have the best D we see all year, besides UNI

I assume you meant MSVS, not MSU. The following is a list of better defences than Bozeman besides UNI we will or have played this year. St.Francis (shut down mighty Bryant and that is without the jet lag), Cal Poly, SUU, NAU, and NCU. And Sac St, EWU, ISU would all be a "push".

The statistics say otherwise... Anyway, the point is we don't play anymore playoff caliber defenses.

The only reason our offense looks ungodly is because the defenses we face are the bottom of the FCS.

The Big Sky is notorious for great offenses and bad defenses. Does one fuel the other? Sure. Probably.

After this week the Griz will be around #8 in total offense. With NAU, EWU, and Cal Poly sniffing around the top 10 mark as well. UNCO around #20.

Some feel that EWU is a perfect example of inflated stats due to the Big Sky defenses but obviously they have proved outside of conference they can put up scary numbers too.

Regardless.. These are the ranks of total defense of our opponents prior to the start of this last week. Note: Sac States average yardage will drop pretty heavy after that last game.

11 - Saint Francis (300 ypg allowed, we got 520)
25 - UNI(336 ypg allowed, we got 206)
51 - Cal Poly(378 ypg allowed, we got 485)
64 - MVSU(399 ypg allowed, we got 433)
102 - SUU(456 ypg allowed, we got 627)
114 - Sac State(489 ypg allowed, we got 655)

I think this shows pretty well that our offense is good, but the defenses we play are worse. The bad defenses attribute to the numbers but we also have, with the exception of one game, outpaced every single game as far as ypg. The Griz offense is a top 25 offense for sure. I'm not sure what the yards/season record for the griz is but it might be in trouble this season. These are the defenses we have coming up. With the exception of NAU and MSU we should be putting up 500 yards each game.

NAU - 55
EWU -107
ISU - 108
Northern colo - 121 *2nd to last in FCS
MSU - 49

What are you smoking and where can I get some

statistically MSU is the 3rd best defense we will face this year prior to playoffs. Saint Francis, and UNI are the other two. Northern Colorodo is barely ahead of one team for the worst defense in the FCS so...clearly you are not thinking

Clearly you are going on Cat stats which are padded by playing Central Oregon and Idaho. Watch the MSU/Weber St game or the MSU/Sac St 2nd half. Weber managed 14 points against Sac State, but blew the Cats away.

I am going off of actual stats not just gut bias like you. See numbers above

You had me until the bobcat defense statement. Dude, have you watched them play recently? I have a lot, because I do a bunch of shit that is not good for me, but they ARE NOT GOOD AT PLAYING DEFENSE. Some of it Jimmies and Joes, some of it a linebacker coach over his head with x's and o's (I like gregorak, so shut the fuck up). Ewoo's defense is significantly better. So is UNC. So is ISU for christ's sake.

Sorry to go off on ya.. Wasn't you specifically. Probably more just looking for an intervention on the fact that I keep watching bobcat games..train wreck theory I suppose..

You guys say you "watch the MSU games." Which gives you enough credit to talk about their defense and then claim that northern Colorado has a better defense, when you clearly haven't watched their games... northern Colorado is one of the worst defenses in all of fcs football.

You're just spouting off teams that are "better" when you don't know, you are just trying to make a point

Yeah, the cats' comment wasn't really the point. Point is we won't see a real defense until the playoffs...

G-Bears, agreed.

I have watched UNC in three games this year (albeit only 2 in essential entirety). I ain't spouting shit "eriul." I pay WAY too much attention to FCS football. UNC has a better defense from what I have seen. Though that is kind of like a cock on a supermodel..not that there is anything wrong with that..

Statistics heavily disagree with your bias. Numbers don't lie

And the defensive stats are starting there major slide. They could easily be in the bottom third of the big sky after playing EWU!

"Numbers don't lie" may be the most naive statement in the human lexicon. That or "til death do us part.."

Chicks talkin' football is incredibly hot though.....

The big sky has 7 teams that are in the bottom 25 of defenses in the fcs. Montana state is 51st, about middle of the pack. You guys are absolutely crazy if you think MSU has a worse defense than all of those teams

Sorry that you think your opinion is better than facts

My opinion doesn't mean shit in the whole scheme of things. I am at least comfortable basing them off of actual observation. Not saying you aren't. But, you are smart. You know stats can be manipulated to say just about whatever you want. I bet we can both agree that both team's defenses (and pretty much every team in the big sky), fu*kin' stink.

Wanna make out now?

Bobcat defense isn't very good either and they are getting exposed more and more every week. Statistically they were helped early by playing average offenses and forcing a ton of turnovers. Their turnover margin has evaporated and you are starting to see them for what they really are.

Bobcats are pretty lousy....we are going to make them look absolutely foolish in wagriz next month.
