I understand why App. deserves respect and I've shown my share of it but it's time to stop licking their buttholes and show them why their 2nd best.

In all seriousness, I have a ton of respect for you guys as well but I'm ready to see this play out on the field. We are 61-5 in our last 66 home games and although I know your boys will be ready, I expect a victory. If the Griz come across the country and win at our place, I will tip my cap.

The last time the two teams played the NC guys got a taste of the Rocky Mountains, a Montana winter snow storm and the howling winds out of the Hellgate. I wish we had it again. Good luck to both teams and Go Griz bring it to em!

You could rename those the "Armanti Edwards Trophies!" He was a STUD(and you had a couple other "ok" players too, haha!) Can't wait to make it 3-0 against you guys this saturday, see you there!

Except for the fact that Armanti Edwards was in high school when App State won the championship in 2005.

Let's not forget the App State-Michigan game. There's one for the ages!
Even if the MI team was stoned!
Was Armanti Edwards a Freshman in that game?

Hmmm!?!? I thought he won three. Oh well, he was still a stud!

We're 20-3 in our last 23 away games

61-5 is a pretty good home record. I'll check ours for the hell of it in roughly that same era

We're 71-6 in our last 77 home games

(We have also won 133 out of our last 147 home games)

Very impressive and to be honest, I would not be expecting a win in Missoula as the teams currently match up. In Boone, I do expect an Appalachian win.

I know that time is going to drag on until kick-off, I am definitely more excited about this game than I have been for any regular season game in a long, long time.

One strategic advantage I think the Griz will have in this game is that UM has a new head coach and two new coordinators. I think UM played pretty conservatively both offensively and defensively last week against SoDak, and App will get quite a few new schemes and formations thrown at them that they haven't seen on film.

That said, App State's staff, and especially head coach Jerry Moore are veteran coaches and will likely be prepared to make necessary adjustments.

This will be a really great game.

Ditto, Griz-cat games included. :thumb:

I've heard that we may open up the playbook more than we did against East Carolina as well. Our defensive staff is largely unchanged but we have a new offensive coordinator/QB coach, WR coach, OL coach, TE coach and RB coach.

An interesting dynamic with two fairly young teams facing high expectations. This is a very important game, particularly for us. Starting 0-2 with road games remaining at Georgia Southern and Chattanooga would make it an uphill battle to make the playoffs.

Isn't that the truth!! This week is moving so s-l-o-w. Eienstein was right, time is relative. Bastard!

Hopefully, the ASU students will treat the Griz fans better than they intended for the Democrats gathering down in Charlotte.

ASU student arrested at DNCby Anna Oakes

An Appalachian State University student was among two people arrested Sunday, Sept. 2, during a protest march in Charlotte held to coincide with the Democratic National Convention this week.
Anna Marie Wright, 23, of Boone, was arrested at 2:43 p.m. Sunday for wearing a mask and carrying a concealed weapon (a knife/cutting instrument) at 4th and College streets, according to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. Wright was received a misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed weapon and was released with a written promise to appear in court. Wright did not respond to an emailed request for comment as of presstime. The prohibition of wearing masks and carrying sharp objects during public demonstrations was among several changes enacted to the city of Charlotte’s ordinances in preparation for the convention.

It was raining pretty hard here in Charlotte yesterday. Girl puts on a mask so her make-up won't run, then she grabs a box cutter to open the gift she bought for the President and all of a sudden she's a criminal! Damn shame.

You could rename those the "Armanti Edwards Trophies!"

...he iz the second best visiting player...

Hate to be "that guy" but that figure cannot be right. I just checked the schedules and you guys had 3 road losses last season and 3 in 2010.
