Don't get me wrong; Nova is a fine FCS program. Are they an elite program? No. Are they anywhere near Montana's level? F*ck no.

We have won 53% of our games in our history and they have won 54% we have two chippers and they have at least one. So I'm not really sure there is a huge difference. They have a pretty good following. Not as good as the griz currently but historically we were not followed that well prior to Washington Griz stadium. Just sayin'
I guess your arguement is just opinion related and not fact based? Is that what your saying?EverettGriz said:indian-outlaw said:Well, I just looked it up and they have more of a winning tradition than we do...EverettGriz said:I'm laughing because they don't really have a "winning tradition". C'mon I-O. You're better than that.
Here's a suggestion for both of you:
Go to AGS. Start a thread saying "Name the Top 5 FCS Elite Programs".
If, after say a week, the Griz aren't listed on 75% of the answers and Nova is listed on 35% of them, I'll send you each a $1,000. If that's not the case, you send me a grand.
That's some pretty damn good odds I'm giving you. And yes, monteisacatfan, I'll still be laughing, all the way to f*cking bank.
EverettGriz said:Well, then you and I certainly agree, and we both disagree with monte is a cat fan.
I'd be interested in numbers from the beginning of FCS which would be 1978 to present. If they were playing the equivalent of NAIA games while we were playing in the Pacific Coast Conference which contained many of the teams in what is now the PAC 12 it will skew the data a lot...not trying to sway the data one way or another, but I feel it may paint a completely different picture of the numbers.indian-outlaw said:Well, I just looked it up and they have more of a winning tradition than we do...EverettGriz said:I'm laughing because they don't really have a "winning tradition". Please.
Name even two FCS programs that can compare to Montana in winning tradition, facilities, fan support, national recognition, etc. Montana is still the gold standard at our level.
You are delusional. Stop living in the past. Facilities and fan support don't win national championships. We have not been an elite program since Hauck left. EWU, Sam Houston, NDSU, Villanova.... these are the new kids on the block. Until Griz fans start accepting the fact that it is over, and has been over for 5 years now, we will never return to where we were. We need a new staff, stop the good-ol-boy hiring practices, and new direction to return to that level.

Edit-thought it would be fun to look for myself.
Villanova since the reopening of the program in 1985- 203-122-1
Montana since 1978 309-138-1
Nova has won 62.3%
Montana has won 69%
Indian-O and Brock are right

I pick lowly Idaho State to pick off a BS team this season. Big elephant has the offense cooking and as I have said before, he hates msu.......could be.

LOWLY? Look at their schedule: SUU, @UNC, @PSU, CalPoly, @MSU, Weber. They have a good chance at sweeping the remaining six games, which would put them at 9-3 overall, 7-1 conference. Playoff material. This weeks Sagarin Ratings: EWU #78, Griz #115, Cats #118, ISU #131. FYI. The Big Human strikes again.
statler & waldorf said:Poorgriz, you need to read more than the Bozeman Daily Chronicle and MSU Exponent. I find the Coaches Poll and Media Poll questionable, at best. No accounting for WHY they rate teams the way they do. Evidently, they only have time to see who won, and by how much. Thats why I like Sagarin. Check out his rationale, and formula. In 1-AA he rates the Griz #20, Cats #22, and ISU #26. Squeeky tight. A couple weeks ago, Kramer was quoted as saying the only team playing defense was the Griz. ISUs defense has been doing well since, which is more than can be said for the Cats. Believe what you wish, but the Kramer enema is coming Nov. 15. Note: you can tell who are the Bengal fans because they will be wearing LATEX GLOVES!
