Any Update on Joslyn Tinkle?

Joslyn visited Stanford this past weekend and that now concludes all of her official visits. She visited Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, Duke, and Stanford.

National Signing week begins on Wednesday. Maybe she verbals tomorrow or Tuesday and then signs Wednesday.

Anybody have an updates, information, ... etc.

I am sticking by my post months ago, Stanford is the leader in the clubhouse, but don't count out UM due to family.

Do you think Joslyn would still go to Stanford even though they already have 6'4 Jayne Appel, 6'5 Sarah Boothe, 6'2 Nneka Ogwumike, 6'4 Kayla Pedersen and then Chiney Ogwumike who is one of the best player in the 2010 Class and is 6'3. I too hope Joslyn Tinkle chooses Stanford. Any chance she makes her decision today or tomorrow?

Appel is a Junior so shouldn't be a problem with time considerations for Jos Tinkle. The others are listed at f/c, which seems to indicate they can play forward also. Tinkle should be able to compete well with any of them for playing time.

Education is and should be the number one consideration, and Stanford would definitely be a great place to get an excellent education despite the fact that you can get a fine education at UM. Except, Tinkle would be able to compete more with some of the best players in basketball, plus compete in class with some of the smartest students also. UM allows to many inferior students in.

As for the decision on when she chooses, I don't think anyone will know before then, and if they do will likely not divulge it till at least Wednesday. It is just to close to signing date to really announce it earlier.

Another thing, if JT signs with the Lady Griz (she is still considering Montana according to Hoopgurlz), you may not find out till even later than Wednesday. Selvig always seems to wait till he can announce all of them at the same time. Lady Griz have 5 scholarships to give out (4 seniors and Dvera Tolbert to replace). Not very often Selvig announced his signings on first day.

i must say, for such a high-profile decision, joslyn and her family have handled this all with a great deal of class. she's methodically made her visits to high-profile schools scattered over a wide geographical area, and has done so with little gossip and fanfare, and no leaks. imagine we were talking sarah palin!

one surprise to me: the "southern" strategy, if you will--duke, texas, georgia, oklahoma. bit of a surprise to me that a montana kid with strong family ties would take the farthermost leap to the south. i might have expected more trips to pac-ten schools like washington, cal or possibly even southern cal.

oh, this is not my decision? sorry!

What bubble?
Better take that verbal out of your statement. Coaches can't discuss signings until all the paperwork is done. So, if they are still verbals, than there hasn't been any announcement yet.

yeah ok, fact is they are still known, and your insinuation was that the identities is a mystery, but no worries, you got me on that one....feel better? :thumb:

Please refresh our memories. Who are the 3 young ladies who have verbaled to the Lady Griz thus far?

Thanks in advance.

Just answered my own question. So this is an edit. There's another post a little while ago entitled, "Robin gets 3 commits" or something along those lines. They are (with Mcat's remarks):

Alyssa Smith (WA) – 6’0 strong rebounder

Katy Baker(ID) – 6’0 strong, 3pt shooter, Lauren Cooper type

Kenzie DeBoer(WA) – 5’9, don't know her

Thanks, Mcat

Whatever Joslyn may decide is certainly up to her and her family. As for her leaving Montana, I remember when my daughter was looking at colleges; her first requirement for a school to even be considered was that it be at least two states away from Montana. It worked out very well for her.
