Any Pease sightings?

Kyle Sample tweet says Pease "did not" interview this weekend. Pease is going downhill. His play calling at UM was boring and predictable. New blood is needed. Hire Stitt or Wristen. At least they have head coaching jobs in their resume, where Bobby, Phlu, and MD did not.
Delaney did have a head coaching stint (although not successful) at the NAIA level.

Pease is tired of how he is being treated in this search. His interview on Monday was cancelled because of the weather, but he was in CA recruiting some big time recruits for UW. He's supposed to drop his responsibilities for his current job, that if he did, would get him fired? He's in the position of strength here. Haslam should be going to HIM, not the other way around.

Stop it. He isn't Nick Saban. If you want a job, you find time to interview for it. That is how it works everywhere else. Except when people want to be mad at KH because their candidate didn't get hired.

Pretty much sums up the attitude that has endeared him to so many. Hes hardly in a position of strength. He may be a finalist, but thats as far as he will get without an on campus interview. He hasn't exactly built a strong resume and long list of accomplishments since leaving Boise......

So he should leave the duties of his current job in order to interview for a new job he probably won't get? He should stop recruiting big time California players for UW at the drop of a hat to fly to Missoula? If they want him, they should go to him if he can't make it to Missoula. It's not just for Pease, it's for any coach. If you really want them, and want to talk to them, and they can't make it, you go to them. It's simple.

And then they become finalists and come for a campus interview. Every rumor (take it for what it's worth) says that KH already did go to him for an earlier interview. Spokane I think it was.

You either want a job or you don't. You have to find a way to interview for it. I like Pease, would have liked him as head coach, but there is nothing on Pease's resume that says Kent Halsam should wait two weeks, or not do the final interview on campus. Or a litany of other things.

Not saying he was or wasn't treated fairly, I have no idea because I am not part of the process. I just think that some of this is a little bit out there.

You're so wrong here, it's laughable! Have you ever followed any coaching search? Pease has to take care of his current responsibilities. How it "works everywhere else"? Where exactly? You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

TNT, obviously you have no idea how coaching searches normally work. Haslam is treating this like a job at the 7-11...craigslist ad and wait for candidates come to you. That's not how it works in College football. How is he supposed to leave his current job for an interview? You'd think a prospective boss would like the fact that you wouldn't bail on your current responsibilities.

You don't know anything about me, but thanks for making assumptions :thumb:

Halsam left campus and met with him. I haven't seen anyone say he didn't. I think you just are predisposed to have a problem with Kent Haslam based on what other people say about him. And I don't think that is legitimate or fair. It seems like the only way this search could have been conducted fairly in your mind is if Bobby Hauck or Brent Pease or someone else connected to the program got the job, right?

I apologize if you don't fall in to that group, but there are a lot of people who are upset with Haslam because of the whole O'Day thing which he had nothing to do with.

If you were applying for a job, and there were three finalists and you knew that the other two were going to go to campus for personal interviews, wouldn't you want to as well to feel like you were on equal footing?

In the real world, especially in the college world, people make time to leave their job and interview for the one they are interested in all the time. But I know the world of sports is different from the real world.

And Pederson at UW surely has had other coaches interview for head jobs or other positions over all his years of success. I can't believe he wouldn't be willing to work something out. What kind of boss doesn't encourage and support the upward advancement of those working for him?

Petersen supports his assistants moving on, like Carroll. A head coach does not like it to interfere with his assistants current job, especially when he's doing some of your heavy-hitter recruiting right before the dead-period. There was absolutely no way Pease could've flown in when he was on the road recruiting and with UW having a big recruiting weekend.

Does someone walk out of their office, on the clock, and spend a couple days interviewing while they're paid? News to me.

Don't be so sure of what I know or don't know about hiring coaches. First of all the campus interview scheduled for this weekend may or may not have been reality. If the final interview is an on campus interview thats what it is. I would assume they can work around his schedule to a point. The reality is you likely have no clue as to what the process has been to this point. In any event Pease is not the quality of candidate that can hold court at the Mariott as ADs from the country over come with hat in hand hoping their school will be considered.

Haslam had 3 years to game plan for this...I want my AD hiring someone out of his league not other way around. I don't want someone begging for the upgrade job, I'm trying to convince someone to take the job.

I'm sure there are a lot of folks on this board who could have done a much better job...
