Any Egrizzers going to Chambers Bay?

I've played some pretty good courses ... up to and including Pebble Beach, and they are tough but fair. That is, they reward good shots and punish bad shots. They don't dump you into total, hopeless crap for a pretty good but not perfect shot. Publicity-wise, I'd say hosting the Open was a disaster for Chambers Bay -- no way I'd pay a dime to go play there.

Agreed 95 % with this. All except the Dustin Johnson part. He's a home wrecking tool who gets to go home and fuck Paulina Gretzky every night. He deserves everything shitty that happened to him yesterday. Speith is a humble, grounded kid who hasn't (yet) let the fame go to his head. Much rather see Speith win it. But I'll save my money for another round at Pebble before I go lose 2 dozen golf balls in that gravel pit.
 
Say what you will but one of the best players in the world won the US Open. And that is the way it should be. Had someone random won then you could say it wasn't a fair test. I do believe the course as it was setup for the US Open is overly difficult for the typical amateur. They need to shorten it up by about a thousand yards to make it anywhere near playable.

Had not really thought one way or another about it being Johnson trying to make the putt. Just figured that a last hole turn-around (preferably a playoff) after all the pain would have been cool. And watching what looked liked a well-stroked putt wobble/bounce around (the camera had a great angle) was just painful.

All that being said, I'm very glad Speith won. He has the potential to be the next Tiger -- with a more fan-friendly personality. Can't really warm to McIlroy, but I'm not sure why. And actually, Tiger has gotten a lot more fan-friendly, but now he has no game.
