the griz for the first time on tv next week, and also in portland later next month, cause it's damned tough being an armchair coach otherwise. before the season, i predicted big improvement this year from sharp and swift, impact from gus chase, and hopefully some contribution later in the season from vanderjagt. but last night, swift, chase and sharp combined for nine minutes, while vanderjagt did not play. so...what do i know?

am pleased with the development of rundles however.

The Griz ever appreciate a quality team? You bitch when the teams are bad, and bitch when when you have a top knotch team. You have a very good to great team this year and bitch ...bitch ...bitch. My thought on the Bobcats is that I will support them when they are good and I will support them even more when they lose. Is this year going to be bitch when they lose and cheer when they win.

OK I admit you can not paint all the griz fans with the same brush, but, I will say this, you can tell who are the true Griz fans and those who are fair weather fans.

i think we're coming from different places, mslacat. our program has excelled for two years, the talent level is the highest it's been in many years, and expectations run high.we're sort of like a stock with a high p/e that misses it's earnings and gets punished by the market. i think this is human nature, and i don't feel i'm more or less enthusiastic a griz fan than i've been for many many years now.

if your cats were a stock they'd clearly be in a turnaround mode, and the market wouldn't be nearly so critical, knowing that a turnaround takes time.

most of what's been said here is constructive--better three-point defense, different lineups, et. al. i have no problem with this sort of criticism at all.

City,

If the Cats were a stock, they would be regarded as a former Blue Chip, such as IBM, Ford, that stayed with that status quo too long, and other companies with new ideas and leadership passed them by. By the time they realized it they were forced into Chapter 11 reorganization filing (Durham resignation). They now have a new CEO (Huse), a business plan (recruiting class), now can they recapture market share (wins).
