Another uniform thread

I miss the uniform combos the Griz had in the early and mid 'teens. The flat maroon helmets, no skin colored pants, the Griz Paw as the helmet logo, even the all white unis were cool. If the reason for not having those now is budget issues then thats understandable, but it would be nice to see even one tweak to the current ones. Different uniforms is one of the things that make college football special, imo.

Agreed! 2011-2016, they started to actually move in the right directing with branding. Cool uniforms, new turf look, even tried updating the logo/brand but haslam got too scared and wasn't brave enough to update the scat brown, messy, cartoon sketch of a logo at mid field.

Their unis were getting cool during this time though - matte maroon helmets with the paw as logo, black pants, sick looking tops, etc.

Agree with everything EXCEPT the field logo. I love that logo. It's unique and not some cartoon like the bobcats. The matte maroon with the Griz paw is really all I want.

I hate the all-silver. It looks like they are wearing jammies.
 
The granite and throwback uniforms that the players wore a few years back were really cool. There was also an option for the fans to purchase the game worn jerseys and the proceeds would go to the GSA. I wish those jerseys and the option for fans to purchase game worn jerseys would return.

Totally agree. I bought Eli Alford’s game worn copper throwback when they were available. Framed it for the office, and I think it’s really cool.

I really hope the Griz lean into the native aspect of the school more. Did anyone else see that promo at one of the home games about the turquoise basketball jerseys? Or was I a few fireballs in...

As far as I’m concerned, the classic Griz uniform is like the Dodgers or the Yankees or Cubs. It doesn’t need 72 variations.
 
Glad you do, however players of today enjoy the multitude of choices. Don't know for sure but have been told uniforms could even play a part in the recruitment of athletes. Personally, I like the different looks.

I think our uniforms are all right, but I don't like the lines on the sleeves… too much 90s to me
