stole over to berkeley tonight to watch our volleyballers lose 3-0 to cal. (27-30, 22-30, 25-30.) cal had two incredible athetes, a short black chick with jordanesque hops, and a tall lanky gal from croatia who is the most phenomonal hitter i have ever seen on a volleyball court. put her in a maroon uniform and we would have prevailed, for sure. it was obviously a case of cal showing up with better athletes, but as always, no matter where i go to see montana play, no matter the sport, no matter the mis-match in talent, you just come away proud of our teams, the way they're coached, the evident discipline and sportsmanship. we question whether we're ready to move up to the wac, but let me tell you, in both men's and women's basketball, in football and in volleyball, we would not embarass ourselves playing in the pac 10.
and by the way, we play two more games tomorrow, against u.c. davis and baylor. based on what i saw of those two teams, i'd say we beat u.c. davis, and are fairly evenly matched against baylor.
