Another MT Commit - McKenzie Holt

Did I not post awhile back that this was my sleeper pick in the state? I am not surprised. His stock has been rising, thanks to terrific performances this summer. He has many doubters to prove wrong, which will motivate him for his SR season. His father played at Arizona, then the Cleveland Browns. Physically, McKenzie measures up to the big boys. If he can harness his potential, this will be a terrific signing by the GRIZ. I hope he plays MLB. He can put on a lot more weight too, if he is needed at DE. Hell, if he can get his 40 time down a little, he could be a big WR, as well.

Here is a search link with a lot of information regarding his father, Harry Holt.

The kid is legit. Hard to ignore him considering he is a 6-4 at the Class B level who has the potential to run low 11 second 100's. He is every bit as fast as Opland (MSU recruit). He doesn't have a clear offensive fit (H,Y but could play F) and can play multiple positions on defense (DE, MLB, OLB). I would qualify him at this point as an athlete.

Comparably, he is probably a better college recruit than Tony Kaz (who was among the most prolific HS recievers the state has seen), the last TF kid to suit up at the UM. Better measurables, but less polish as an athlete. I'll be interested where they see him playing.

Mack definitely has the physical tools to be a great player. Have watched him in 3 sports the last three years. Big, fast, and strong. The only knock on him is lack of effort at times. It started to look like he was "getting" it at the end of track season. He could be a great olb at the size he is now. With a little more weight a de or a combo. Not sure he has the attitude for a MLB. Too bad UM doesn't use a "traditional" TE, he could be unstoppable at the FCS level. Definitely the sleeper in this class.

Crazy that he is being recruited as an offensive lineman. Would be quite the transformation project.

The position I think would be his best as well.

Where is growler? Looks like another guy who our coaching staff connected with and won out over the Cats. We saw the same story in a couple other recruits' comments

Mtgrizrule. Let's hope McKenzie does better than our other T-Falls native that joined the Griz a few years ago.. Kaz.. I thought for sure he would have made some noise for the Griz. Sadly no..

Kaz didn't make much noise with the Griz, but he can tell you a few good stories about hunting mountain lions

Essentially has 2 years to gain 60ish pounds. Not out of the question if he has the frame for it and is still growing. Coaches must see that potential if they have identified him as a potential OL prospect.

I think it came down to Western Montana in Dillon and the Griz, I guess UM barely edged out Western.

If you substitute Montana state with western Montana then you would be spot on. You are on a roll today with proving to be just another uninformed bobcat troll who knows little to nothing about football.

Yeah, that happens sometimes. For example, I know you were being heavily recruited by the fine educational facility in Warm Springs. Couldn't quite qualify, though, so you chose msu.
