Am I correct?

So are there some posters who don't like coach Stitt because he won't let them close to the program like former coaches did? Now that Gregorak has left was he their last coaching connection left ? Are some of you upset your coaching buddies are gone and now you can't spew your "inside" sources??

Or do you truly feel coach stitt is not capable of running the Grizzly football program???

I look forward to what the next couple years bring and think the program is in good hands but I'm just a casual fan.

I was born in Missoula. I attended grade school and high school in Missoula, and I graduated from the University of Montana.

I just laugh when I read about these people who think they are entitled just because they used to play or coach here, or because they write big checks to the scholarship association. They are the best argument for bringing in new blood by hiring coaches from outside the "family."

Bobby Hauck used to coach here. Then he quit and moved on. That's fine, I don't have a problem with that in the slightest. But if he wanted to coach here now, he should have just stayed. He's not entitled to coach here again, and he won't ever coach here again. It's time to move on and support the new guy. And if the new guy doesn't pan out, well, we still won't bring Bobby back, no matter how much the "family" members sulk.

Yeah - do people not realize that nepotism and cronyism are usually signs of organizational dysfunction? And anyway, Stitt came highly recommended by the last Montana coach who won a national championship (and whose team was one of the other few to beat mighty NDSU this past season).

My 3 cents since it's the offseason, and these are the types of threads we will have, at least until signing day.

1. I have met Stitt personally once, really liked him. Interviewed him several times. Had no problem with his media abilities in press conferences.

2. I know two former players who he reached out to almost immediately and they both really like and support him. Beyond that, I don't personally know former players much, so I won't pretend to know what they think of him. I do see some fairly negative stuff being posted on Twitter from time to time.

3. I have been told by some who I would consider BIG boosters that Stitt isn't into boosterism much, that he's not really into that part of the gig. I don't know if that means access to the team, or that he's not hanging out with the boosters in Red's or whatever, but they have just told me he isn't really into all that. They have also told me he has rubbed some boosters the wrong way. Interestingly, those two still said they like him and think he's doing a good job.

As long as current players don't have legitimate beefs, I guess there's no way to keep the alumni network 100% pleased (can't please everyone all the time).

Just win, baby, just win! He's said that he's an X's and O's guy, and that's why I'm excited to have him. Let the guy immerse himself in his football nerd conferences - can't someone else do the politicking?!

Coach Stitt impressed me when I chatted with him at his first recruit meeting in Kalispell last year. Then I had the opportunity to play some golf with him at the Griz Scramble. I think he's an incredible guy. Outgoing, focused, funny, competitive as hell, absolutely bleeds football. I have no idea if any of that will translate to being a successful D1 football coach but, I'm behind this this man 100%.
