Alright the question must be asked…

Both were absolutely amazing games. I believe the over all play of both teams was better in the App game, though. And when you consider the ridiculous number of future NFL players in that game, it has to be #1.

That said, I'd happily *watch either game on repeat for a full week.

*I actually came close to this one year while I was terribly sick with flu, and just kept replaying the 09 App game incessantly.

IMO 2009 was better because we were facing App State still in the height of their dynasty with Armanti Edwards.

That felt like a heavyweight matchup of two semi- 2000s dynasties and had the snow, Keith Thompson's hit (one of the greatest in CFB history and that's not hyperbole), Chase going off, and the epic catch from Sambrano. To this day I've never feared an opponent with the ball in their hand more than Armanti.

This is a close 2nd though.

Agree with this. Plus the weather was more exciting for App State.

I'm putting this one ahead simply because I got to see it unfold for myself instead of just hearing about it.

Hard to.ignore the redemption/revenge factor in this one. App State in '09 didnt really have that.

This cannot be understated. One of my best friends is a lifelong Missoula man and he was feeling that, before this playoff run, we would never see another legend don the Grizzly uniform. He has since changed his mind after yesterday.

This year's team looks as if they walked right out of the 2000s and after the last 7-ish years, this victory is one of the greatest feelings I've ever felt.

It also helps that I talked mad shit to a lot of NDSU-aligned family and friends. That aspect gave it almost a Brawl feeling too.
