All Quiet On The Frisco Front

I'm hoping that the relative "quiet" here on eGriz is because people are having too much fun to bother. Still, if some of you get a moment, let us know how it's going. Would have loved to make it (made several before), but, as they say, "events intervened."

Also seems like the ticket craziness has settled down. Hope that's the case. (Or, sadly, people have given up?)

My friend and his wife flew out of Bozeman early this morning. He reports seeing copious amounts of Griz fans on the plane, at the hotel, in grocery stores and just out and about. I’m taking a red eye flight out of Spokane tomorrow night so I will miss all the festivities but at least I’ll be there for the game. I think this will be a record turnout for a chipper by Griz Nation. 5,000 tickets were sold by the UM ticket office in a day. How many more from secondary sources? I checked earlier today on the SDSU. message board: the thread for this game has 50 posts. That indicates to me they aren’t going to have all that many fans there. Maybe they will. I am hoping the stands will be mostly maroon. We’ll see. Go Griz!

During one of the Idaho threads, a poster said, the last time we seen him ,he was blocking his guy torward the Pacific Ocean.” In this case the Gulf of Mexico!

Well there are plenty of Jackrabbit fans here in Frisco. However the same for Grizzly fans.

My Denver to Dallas flight was about 85% Montana fans, with about 10 So Dakota State fans, and the rest of the folks very confused about what the hell was going on with all these football fans

My son and I came in late last night, and saw quite a few Griz fans (and a few rabbit fans) at the airport.

Today we’re mostly doing non-football stuff - JFK tour, Topgolf, and a prime rib dinner tonight with some family. Maybe Grizfest after dinner, if we have the energy.

It's going great. The UMAA event last night was PACKED. GRIZfest tonight is going to be a blast.

Overwhelmingly GRIZ fans at the Marriott in Plano, but as I said in my other thread, groups are just necessarily far more compartmentalized here than in Chattanooga.

Pretty sure people over here were saying he had vertigo and had to quit mid season.

I’d estimate 2 jacks to every 1 griz fan out at the FW Stockyards. Definitely heard a bunch of “Go Griz” calls but there was quite Bit of Blue. My guess is they had more folks drive down and can just roam around wherever, unlike Griz fans that would be renting cars and ubering.
Can’t wait for tomorrow.

I’d estimate 2 jacks to every 1 griz fan out at the FW Stockyards. Definitely heard a bunch of “Go Griz” calls but there was quite Bit of Blue. My guess is they had more folks drive down and can just roam around wherever, unlike Griz fans that would be renting cars and ubering.
Can’t wait for tomorrow.

Suspect you’re correct about the majority of Jacks fans drove versus flew. Their campus is slightly more than half the distance to Frisco that Missoula is. Yesterday at DFW there were fans of both teams but I’d guess the ratio was 3 or 4 to 1 of more Montana fans than SD State. So, I don’t worry about being a minority here.

Really enjoy Ft Worth more than Dallas. Though as a Griz fan who flew in, and is staying in Frisco, I am a very long Uber ride away from the Stockyards and won’t be visiting there this trip.

FYI: the best Chicken Fried Steak in the World is at a place a couple of blocks from the Ft Worth Stockyards

If you want a chicken fried steak you should try the one they have at The Depot in Frisco since you’re staying. It’s within walking distance from the stadium and is connected to a gas station. Don’t let it fool you. One of the best breakfast spots in DFW. Don’t let all the day laborers lingering on the corner discourage your visit lol.
