Sorry if I came off as a pedantic know-it-all. I failed in my commitment to civility. Everyone has their breaking point.
I need to find my happy place.

Spanky said:Coach Stitt deserves our support. He should be given three or four years to recruit the type of talent he needs for his offense and during this time, there will be losses. That doesn't mean we won't be disappointed along the way.

When you have reduced schollies and require 47 WRs, there is not much left for top OLmen.Montana Born said:I really am hoping Coach Stitt can find the type of players that can make his system work. But I still think an offensive lineman that can consistently perform the way our line is asked to are going to need to be a special kind of player.
Stitt's coaching staff signed 6 OL and received a commit from another already this year. There is a 3-star who is very interested among the other OL Montana is recruiting. To claim they haven't paid any attention to OL is erroneous....also, the first thing Stitt did when he accepted the job was hire Chad Germer, a guy who has put a number of linemen into the NFL

Coach Stitt has my support, for whatever that means to him, I could assure it doesn't matter to him that he has my support.
And I am disappointed, he has already left two games on the field.
In college football three or four year can be a career, if coach Stitt was a surgeon, would you allow him three or four years of practice operating on you .
Now, you are assuming that better athletes than Henderson, Jones, Roberts, (Jansesen, who we haven't seen yet this year) Counts, Nguyen,Burke,Carlson, are on the horizon.
Where are they coming from, Rocky Mountain School of Mines transfers.
Athletes that coach Stitt requires for his offense are FBS athletes, In my opinion the athletes that field the Griz are some of the best in the Big Sky, and near the top of the FCS.
What is coach Stitt strategy to improve recruiting over the coaches that proceeded him, fifteen years of coaching at Rocky Mountain School of Mines, and if he needs the three or four years you suggest, I believe his recruiting prowess may slip.
Spanky said:I was a Bobby Hauck supporter, however, I think Bob Stitt is a good hire and has a good future at UM. He has lost a couple of games and will likely lose more. However, over the long haul, this coach who has a good national reputation will win many games and championships.

Probably the worst analogy in the history of humans being able to verbaly communicate.

I will say "yes" to better football players than Counts, Nguyen and Janssen and probably Burke, Roberts and Carlson. Of course I see that you did not mention any of the OL.

Hope he wins more for the Griz than he did at Rocky Mountain School of Mines especially NC

Since when are the GRIZ consistently playing FBS/BCS quality programs when that kind of talent is needed? The GRIZ are playing FCS caliber opponents, therefore he does not have to recruit FBS caliber players. Any solid FBS caliber player we do get is icing on the cake. MSU and EWU have great offenses, and they don't get caliber of recruits you are referencing. They are great offensively because the coaches found the right talent to execute the offense they run. The talent has had enough time in each system to the point where the offense is 2nd nature to these kids. Those offenses are no longer in the infancy stages. Those offenses have matured with time and hard earned learned lessons.
Meanwhile the GRIZ offense is literally at the infancy stage of development. We saw the transition from Hauck to Pflu take some time, and it had it's growing pains in year 1. Year 2, the offense came together as that season progressed, come the end of the season that was one great offense. We seem to forget EGRIZZERS were doubting the team, coaches, and direction in year 1 under Pflu too. Yet, come the end of year 2, we were worshipping Pflu, and totally upset when he was let go.
I will take the word and belief of Haslam, and countless football coaches over EGRIZZERS any day. With patience, GRIZ NATION will be very proud and happy with Stitt as our head coach!!!
