All Conference Selections

Not sure if anyone is more "valuable" to his team than Kareem. Regardless of who Griz have coming back next year, we will miss him immensely.

That said, neat to see of three of our starters awarded. Unanimous first time for the 3rd straight year is a pretty nice accomplishment by Kareem.

Good luck in the tourney GRIZ!!

The player of the year almost always goes to a player from the regular season champs. If the Griz had finished 1st in the Big Sky I have no doubt in my mind Jamar would have won it like last year.

Kind of surprised to see Bolomboy as the defensive player of the year. I figured that'd go to Huff. Bolomboy got absolutely abused by Jamar when we played Weber here and was visibly frustrated about it... could be that was just a shitty game for him too though. He does grab every defensive rebound.

Kellie Cole was first team, and Jordan Sullivan was second team for Lady Griz.

Jamar being first team was a very expected selection for the Griz. Would have been MVP if Griz was conference champ.

I thought it was odd that Carly Selvig didn't get named to the 1st or 2nd team or get honorable mention, but she was picked as the defensive player of the year. That doesn't happen too often does it?

Torry Hill was honorable mention.

Yes, overlooked her. The article on bigskyconf.com had the first team and second teams in nice organized format. honorable mentions were put in a poor, harder to read format. Guess it is how the Big Sky treats honorable mentions. But, I did find that out afterwards.

I think the conference tried too hard to be "fair" by spreading out the awards to all the teams.
Located in Ogden. Nevertheless congrats to Kareem, Keron, and Jordan.
# of all-conference players:
Weber=3
Montana=3
It will be interesting to see which of the set of three shows up this week in Ogden.
