ALL-CONFERENCE GUESSES FOR GRIZ.

I'm not going to rank which teams they'll land on, but here's the Griz I think will end up being All-Conference in a couple of days.

Offense: Sneed, Knight, Toure, Akem, JLM, Sirmon, Beaver, Cook, Bingham or Demming (Don't think they'll both get there."

Defense: Sims, Dante, Lewis, Hauck, Robertson, Calhoun

ST: Purdy, Wilson, JLM, Flowers, Graves

Offensive MVP. My guess is Kevin Thomsen, though Cookus did end up with huge numbers.

Defensive MVP. Sadly, Dante will get snubbed because of lack of the glory stats. I think Obinna and Sterk will be Co Defensive MVP's.

Coach of the Year: Troy Taylor is a no brainer.

Lastly, will be interesting to see what Troy Andersen gets this year. I love and respect the hell out of that kid, BUT, I'm not sure he really deserves more than 2nd team LB honors. That's just being honest when it comes to the criteria I've seen for these honors teams. Does it mean he's not one of the single best football players in the Big Sky? Hell no because he is, but I don't think he really needs the Big Sky coaches to make special concessions for him either. We all know how good he is, and special concessions that would put him ahead of someone else more deserving of a first or second-team honor at a position they play full time, I just don't think that's fair. I understand the dilemma because Troy doesn't play full time at one position, and he's so impactful wherever he is. But, that's his and MSU's choice to do that, and not really the rest of the conference job to reward him for it somehow. Again, he's one of the best there is in this league and in the country, but I just don't know where he fits on these lists this year.

Will be nice to see lots of kids on the lists. We haven’t had a lot of players make all conference for a while now.

First teamers? Dante, Akem, Toure...maybe Lewis. Maybe Flowers or JLM on ST....

Well, I had Dante & Toure & Lewis right. Add JLM as well.

2nd team: Akem, Beaver, Cirmon, Hauck

3rd: Knight, Villanueva, Sandry

I don't see 3 Griz oline guys as all conference. Not sure they would even all start for MSU actually. Guess we will see

All worthy👍🏻
1. Akem will probably be penalized for not playing the full season.
2. Toure is a legit candidate.
3. Dante is the best LB in the league but given past Griz backlash he may end up 2nd team.
4. Lewis May be the second best LB in the league.....Griz backlash strikes again
5. JLM is #1 in the conference but I could see Shaheed winning.
6. Flowers is #3 in ypr, and #1 in total yards, but I won’t hold my breath.

Conference only stats:

Olson 108. Sterk and Obinna not in top 25.

TFL. Obinna 1.5 per game, 3d in conference. Sterk .63, 25th in conference. Olson not in top 25.

Sacks. Obinna, 10. First in conference. Sterk, 5.5, 5th in conference. Olson not in top 25.

Sterk looked like he was feeling healthier out there this weekend.
