That part makes no sense to me either. In BCS football, I am a fan of Nebraska and WAZZU, I did not go to school at either place. So how is fandom determined for the professional ranks, being there is not a school to attend? I became a fan of the Huskers after experiencing my 1st year in Omaha. I loved how passionate their fans were for the Huskers. GRIZ and Husker fan bases are very similar.

As I said, fans care about the football team. Alumni care about the entire university. There's nothing wrong with that, but fans tend to view things from an athletic perspective, without any care about enrollment dropping, liberal arts majors becoming obsolete, etc. etc. So, in viewing a move up to the MWC (which I still find impossible), fans only consider how it would impact the football program, and not the entire university and its budget.

That might be the way it works in Bozeman. Come to think of it, it probably is the way it works in Bozeman because it's so f***[*] stupid.

This guy is supposedly the witty one here?

Not true. I am a fan of the University of Montana as a whole. So... you're just a dip shit. Move on.

Now much money do you donate to academics at UM?

Nope. It must be rad to know the source and extent of everyone's fandom. Either you have super powers or you are full of shit. Wait, as evidenced by every post you've ever made, it has to be the latter, and you are probably a cat person. Not a cat fan, a cat person. A person who likes cats.

Why the fuck do you care? Also, why does it matter? He can't be a fan of the University unless he donates money? I think you're done here.

Seems likely cat NW is butt hurt the cats finally caught the Griz. They had the expanded stadium, video board, and better success on the field. Meanwhile UM was in one of the darker days in campus history, certainly athletically. Now UM is looking at a new academic center, new champions building, and perhaps an indoor practice facility. It's gotta be a kick in the nuts for the them.

I think all of that is great for UM! Those facilities will be first-class in FCS.

In FBS, they'll be average, at best.

Your Griz envy is showing through. I'm PRETTTTTTTTTTTTTTY sure a brand new locker room, weight room, training rooms, academic center and indoor practice facility would be more than just "average"....especially in the FBS realm the Griz would compete in.

A $14m weight room/football center is nothing compared to other FBS schools. Not even having any existing plan for an indoor facility puts UM far behind even the worst cold-weather FBS programs. I'm sorry if some of you don't see this reality. Facility-wise, UM will is at the bottom of FBS programs right now. It's not even debatable. That doesn't even take into account coaching salaries. Utah State pays Matt Wells over $700k/year, and if he has success, he will move to a better job. How is UM going to be able to pay a decent coaching staff up to or over $1m a year in increased salaries in order to even be at the low end of the FBS spectrum?

I'm asking legitimate questions, and the answer I get is "Cat envy" from one tool, and another guy talking about tens of millions of dollars in facilities that haven't even been started to be built. UM needs to figure out how to attract more students to the school before blowing that much money on a football pipe dream, don't they?

I can already see NwF sitting at a bar....I am the luckiest guy! My wife is hot by MSU standards. In the realm of the human race though, she is average at best.

You just perfectly described how some Griz fans view the UM program, in terms of prestige and facilities, compared to reality. Well done.

Oh, and my wife is hot by any standard.

You sure are spending a lot of time on eGriz...your "Hot" wife told me she is feeling neglected...

Here's some comparisons to MWC Weight & Locker Rooms. Looking at these, I think it's safe to say that Montana's facilities will be on par with most, if not better than, several MWC and lower-tier FBS schools.

Wyoming's facilities are pretty new.. and they're adding a $44million addition onto the current athletics center. Montana's new facilities won't be able to even touch what UW is going to do.

Forgot about Wyoming's updates. Those facilities are going to be top notch.

Still attempting to get funding for that, aren't they? At least that's the way I read the article....$24 million of it anyways...
