Logan is 80 miles from Salt Lake City and has over 2x the students that UM has. Missoula is 80 miles from Deer Lodge, by comparison. Bigger donor base, twice the endowment, major metropolitan area from which to recruit ... need I go on as to why Logan is a better FBS location than Missoula?
Yes, please do.NorthwestFresh said:NavyBlue said:There are more direct flights into Missoula than there are to Logan, UT. Logan is pretty close to 100 miles from SLC, by the way.

These people that say UM COULDN'T do it drive me nuts. Of course UM COULD if the right people were in place and they WANTED too!EverettGriz said:Blue, I must ask you to stop. Yeah, you're right I will stop, for now. :lol:EverettGriz said:Dammit!! There you go with Logic and Sense again Blue. I thought we'd covered this.

The enrollment excuse for a school not being able to compete at the FBS level is a joke.

The Griz haven't won a BSC title since 2009, yet they belong in the MWC over the Big Sky because the BSC isn't competitive enough for the Griz?
I love the delusion here. It always delivers. The Boise references are always amusing, too. You do understand the huge difference in corporate money when you compare Boise to Missoula, right? Also, you can get direct flights to Boise from many more cities than you can into MSO.
Oh, well that's it then. Our dream is officially dead. Nobody flys direct into Missoula.

let's take this and compare it to let's say, Lincoln Nebraska, home of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. How many direct flights do they get?
- Chicago, IL
- Denver, CO
- Minneapolis, MN
- Omaha, NE

In 2007 and 2008 USU was a laughingstock and would have been creamed by at least half of the Big Sky and now one of the better MWC teams. Back then some people said we could NEVER be good, and should drop to FCS or drop football altogether. These are the same people that say UM COULD never be any good as an MWC level team. If they were at Kitty Hawk with the Wright brothers they would have said "you will NEVER fly, so we even TRY!"
Spanky said:Allow me to understand you. Did you say Wake Forest is a garbage school?
Other than the five wealthy private schools (Notre Dame/BC/Duke/Vandy/Wake Forest), and the military acadamies, the rest of those programs are garbage
