Some people just want to sports cast and some want to talk politics. Shame on this page for trying to force Coulter to be a “pit bull” or probe into an on going investigation.

Do you guys realize if he gets a fact wrong he could face a defamation lawsuit? Do you guys realize if a judge gets the idea he’s trying to push an agenda he could face legal consequences? How about, "Coach, why was a raise given to coaches currently under criminal investigation?"?

Or: Mr. AD (no one knows his name): "Are you aware that there is concern in your fanbase about how this matter has been handled?"

The simple fact that NO journalist has asked those questions is astounding.

It’s very clear many of you have no clue how the process of weeding through bureaucracy works…how would you go about getting comment from President Cruzado? Would you just call up her cell phone? How about the AD? Just call him until he answers?

Public universities have media relations departments on campus and the athletic department. If they don’t facilitate interview requests or provide comments, there isn’t a reporter or journalist or analyst in the world that is getting them to talk.

Blame the bureaucracy of the institutions if you are so dead set in blaming something or someone.

Fair. I've never worked in media. But many of us run into similar situations in our line of work.

Personally, if I were a journalist, I would email Cruzado. If she failed to reply, I'd state in my article something along the lines of "multiple emails to President Cruzado seeking comment were not returned. Attempts to phone her were also unsuccessful". At least then everyone knows an effort was made and that msu is clearly trying to bury the story.

If I got a non-response response from the media relations people, I would quote them in full to show that an effort was made but I'm being stonewalled by the bureaucracy at msu, who is clearly tyring to bury the story.

The result is the same: msu is trying to hide and bury the story, and everyone then understands that. But simply not making the effort because you know bureaucracy is involved seems shortsighted. As an example, you know at a Hauck press conference he's not going to answer all of your questions, but you ask them anyway, because they need to be asked. This scenario seems no different.
