You forgot the typo.
Do I still have to thank you for your service when the only service I know from you is the douchy service you provide on egriz?
Even when I am sick of the service?

Never asked anyone to do so. Don't actually know what to say when people do say it.

Cats have at least two proven QBs that are capable of leading the Cats deep into the playoffs. The 3rd and 4th string QBs look pretty damn good too, hope the Cats are able to keep them in Bozeman. Then again, Vigen and crew understand how to recruit and develop top notch QBs in the program. Hauck and crew not so much.

Purdy started 8 or 9 games and was the starter. Would have been the starter for next season, had he not gotten hurt.

So, your point was that losing Purdy late in the playoffs didn't hurt the 49ers? Another example of you being completely out to lunch.

Humphrey filled in fine for Sneed.

Lance has never started a game for the 49ers. He's hardly a starter.

The Cats have 2 good qb's for their offense. Even they would prefer to have TD Tommy.

Are you like some Cat posters? Your backups are better than your starters.

Sometimes backups are close to the no. 1 guy and do well, and often times they don't.

Good grief...Purdy was only the starter because Lance and Jimmy G got hurt. He was QB 3 to start the season. He carried that team. When they had to go to QB 4...yes, problem. Can't think of ANY team that might excel if QB 4 had to start a game.

Back up QB should be fully capable of carrying the team...with minimal drop off.

Speaking of cat posters...didn't you cheer for the cats until the 90s?

Good grief. The NFL can bring in new qb's almost anytime. Again, Purdy has started for 8/9 games and was the starting qb. He was not a backup. When he went down, SF was screwed the playoff game. See the article.

There is drop-off, or significant drop-off, with most backup qb's, especially in college. It is a luxury to have 2 top notch qb's on the same team, and most teams don't have that. It's also very difficult for a back-up to come into a very tough road game in the first quarter, and also tough to carry the team the next week with another tough game on the road.

I still often cheer for the Cats, when they are not playing the Griz or there are no Griz implications. I cheer for all college sports teams in Montana. In football and basketball. I went to high school in Bozeman. In recent times, I have been friends with some of the Cat coaches. My stepdad was a MSU professor. My mom worked for the MSU Foundation. Much of my family lives in Bozeman. Several of my relatives are major MSU boosters. I don't like some of the Cat posters, but I generally like the teams. I loved following Raequan Battle and Kola Bad Bear.

Funny that you would raise this question. You don't even cheer for the Griz half of the time, and you tear down the coaches and team at every chance you get.

Ironic. Wasn't it you that claimed that the reason that MSU took such a beatdown in the '21 brawl was because Sixx didn't understand how overmatched his QB was against the Griz D and couldn't make a decision to make a change?

MSU got lucky with getting a Butte qb who turned out to be very good. Vigen also had a contact with Chambers, due to his Wyoming days. I don't see Vigen and crew as having some great expertise in recruiting and developing qb's. 2 seasons ago, the qb wasn't even good enough to keep his starting job. You are trying to stretch pretty far based on one good season with the qb's.

I have NEVER cheered for the cats...have been a Griz fan since birth - born into it. Dad had season tix back at Dornblaser. Didn't miss a home game from about 1976 - 1995.

You completely missed the point on Purdy. He was QB 3 to start the season. Starter and QB 2 hurt early. He came in and kicked ass. QB 4 was insufficient and ended their season. Those are the facts....

Of course it's tough...some teams figure it out. Griz have not - clearly not last year.

Always knew you were a cat fan and new to Griz football. Jumped on the 90s bandwagon.

Why don't you spout off on the o-line and Germer again? I just talked to a starter for 20 minutes. I look forward to putting you in your place on the o-line and Germer.

My dad played for the Griz in the 30's. I started going to games in Missoula in the 50s. I've been a Griz fan much longer than you, and I'm a much better Griz fan than you are. You are the one who is new to Griz football. You really aren't even a fan. Or, maybe just a bad fan. You don't even live in MT. You can't possibly know what is going on with the Griz.

Why would I spout off about the o-line? Last year they were average, so they gotta be better this year, right?Germer had his responsibilities cut from 3 positions to 2. Speaks volumes IMO.

Purdy was not the starter at the beginning of the season. He was a 7th round draft pick...QB3. Lance started game 1, Jimmy G started the next 10 games. Purdy finished the season...and kicked ass. Don't be dense.

You have affinity for the cats. It's not hard to understand who is a pure Griz fan between us.

And...50s? Wow. You are really old. So, maybe I'll take it easy on you from now on.

Because that has been your MO for several years. The o-line is bad, is average. The coach is terrible and should be replaced. The o-line was much better than average last year. Virtually no one agrees with you, and certainly not the coaches or players.

The o-line was split to make a bigger position for Phen. The o-line I just talked to, at length, said Germer is a terrific coach and every player likes him. In fact, I think he said Germer was great. You're spouting off with no info, speaks volumes for how little you know about Griz football and really football.

Purdy was the starter for most of the season and had earned the position for next year. He was the STARTER.

I can run circles around you mentally anytime. I think you are pretty dumb. You show your low IQ frequently.

So you want them to develop without reps...makes total sense.

No, I want QBs on the roster who have the potential to see the field and carry the team if required. Turn around, the point passed you.

Yeah, reps aren't necessary to see potential.

I doubt you can run. Got your long-term health insurance in tact? Seems you'll need to tap it soon. You certainly can't type coherent messages on a fan message board.

There are very few pure Griz fans who think Germer is a terrific or great coach. It's not surprising you do as you are a bandwagon Griz fan.

Just about everything you've typed about Purdy is wrong and shows how little you know about the game. Doubt you played it.

Yeah, reps aren't necessary to see potential.

Reps given to anyone without the potential to contribute to a run to a Natty are wasted. Yes. QB room is substandard right now as it was last season. Anyone saying it is better this season has lost their mind.

Last season : FBS drop down with extensive game experience. KB QB2. Britt QB3.

This season: FBS drop down with no meaningful game experience. KB QB2. ? QB3.

That's a problem.

You kill me. You can't bitch about QB development and in the next breath bitch about reps. You pretty much can't have one without the other.
