This is what happens when a kid can't do enough to pass KB on the depth chart.

We never even seen him in a live game. Kris Brown has always looked good in practices and then always poop the bed come game time. Brown has lost his chance. Ain't nothing going to change. Brown shouldn't even be in the picture. And a lot were thinking Abbott would be 2nd string so... I guarantee it's literally, only because Hauck likes senior guys getting more playing time. That is the biggest downfall of Hauck. If Abbott and Brown were in the same year, I guarantee Brown wouldn't be competing for the starting job.
Brown isn't competing for the starting job; he's competing for the backup #2.

which means he will be starting at some point in the season if things go as they usually do...

Dude... Please stop with the importance of the backup QB. Both Jordy and Dalton made it through a full season in the last twenty seasons, doesn't matter that they are the only two to do so. Doesn't matter that there have been other seasons where four guys are taking meaningful snaps.

You have attended practice and can personally confirm?

No, not this spring, but I do talk to parents who have been at practices and to coaches. How about you?

I wish! Live too far away, but even if I could attend, I have zero evaluation skills.

Brown had some pretty good games 2 seasons ago. Abbott isn't even close to Brown.

He was replaced by a videographer two years ago in the most important game of the year. When he comes in the game, all confidence of the other players, leaves the stadium.

Brown wasn't replaced by a videographer. The replacement had not retired to become a videographer yet.

Can hardly wait to see how Brown performs in the Sac State game.
He'll keep a spot warm on the bench while Vidlak shreds that mediocre SacSt defense. There will be numerous efforts to take him out with cheap shots, but he will prevail.

The cheap shot artist is gone. Good riddance. He had a skill set that even Bobby acknowledged but definitely lacked discipline.

You mean you don't have a backup that was better than the starter? Get with the times man!

One of my biggest hopes this season is that Brown gets a shot to win a game for the Griz this year. More than anything else to shut up assholes that come on to forums like this to bash a 21 year old kid anonymously. The kid has put his butt on the line competing and working.

Look, I used to support the kid more than anyone else and he's constantly made me look like a dumbass but, we have seen everything he has to offer, he's been with the program for a long time and not once did he look like a gamer in an actual game. I'd love nothing more than him to magically figure it out after all these years but, the likelihood of that is zero to none. Give other guys the chance to compete, especially when we don't know how they do in real games... it's better to test an unknown quantity over giving a guy a shot that has repeatedly shown he can't get it done. That is a waste of roster space that a better player could be filling. If you think Britt and Abbotts transfers don't have anything to do with that, you're a fool.

I have nothing but nice things to say about Kris Brown. He’s given everything he’s got to this program for 5 years. But if he’s #2 QB this season, Bobby has failed miserably and it’s on HIM.

3-1 as starter in 2021

"2020-21 (R-Fr.):
• Academic All-Big Sky
Performed admirably in 12 appearances, going 3-1 as a starter in a backup role under center for the Grizzlies, finishing the year with 1029 yards and three touchdowns on the season… Showed big play ability on the ground, rushing for five touchdowns in a three-game stretch… Threw for a career-high 256 yards in Montana’s win over Idaho… Completed a 70-yard pass in Montana's win at Idaho, the longest of his career.

He was 29-36 against SS. 19-34 against Idaho. 17-23 against So Utah. 20-30 against Dixie St. Did you watch any games in 2021?

This is not a player problem. It is a systemic problem in the program. Questionable recruiting, poor player development, wasted reps...on and on.

But, I too hope KB lights it up when he enters a game - which is inevitable IMO.

I don't agree. What "questionable recruiting, poor player development, wasted reps...on and on"?

Every single one of us that has EVER posted on eGriz has looked like a dumbass at some point. It’s not a unique thing. Some like Growler/RoseyMustGo/Thirdandlong & Uptopgriz/oldschoolhornet/pasttensedraw have perfected it.

I'm with Hoops on this one...Brown is a fabulous quarterback and due to his 2021 stats should be the starter!
He was a quality recruit who has been meticulously developed.

I think we will find Vidlak to be far tougher and more resilient that his predecessor. So hopefully big leads and a lot of mop-up time for the others.

I think a lot of the issues that Brown had were more on the OC then anything else. Went to the WSU game this past season and the play calling was driving me insane.
