ah yat

maybe it's just me, but i had the impression that ah yat put more zip on the ball yesterday, which is possibly why there were quite a few drops in the first half. made me wonder if his old man was at the game for homecoming, sometimes kids want to do well in front of their parents, especially in this case when his dad was a star qb for the griz. probably not, but i if what i think i noticed really happened it's a good thing, he had thrown some pretty soft looking passes in the past, again, according to the very fallible me. to compound the issue, i didn't drink yesterday, so maybe my analytical powers were not so good.

I was impressed by how quickly Ah Yat got rid of the ball yesterday, while not defaulting to dump routes. Lots of short passes yesterday. He was 65.8% on completions against a defense that seemed determined to take away deep completions.
Third down completions were terrible, incuding 3rd and short. The Griz punted seven times and turned the ball over on downs once. That's a team problem not an Ah Yat problem.

He's made big gains this year adjusting to pressure, lot's of stuff...parents, homecoming, pressure defense alone. His adjustments finding an open man, rolling out of pocket, running all better. And having that option and relief for wildcat plays are really beneficial.

I think part of being off may have been that as you mentioned not dink and dunk stuff. Maybe it’s because he is getting a bit more comfortable and aggressive. Thus taking more chances.
