Ah Yat

Can we please hire a coach to grow him and not these 🤡

No. Bobby will get an extension and keep his buddies as coaches and Ah Yat and Gillman will flee.

You realize Ah Yat and Gilman chose to come play for those coaches, right? Did you think they were surprised to see Hauck or Pease when they got here?

PLUS, Ah Yat has chosen to stay even after his Mother wanted him to come home after the assault.

I'm not sure when he will officially take the reigns.
He was poised, calm, and fiery in his 1st taste of action.

2 things I noticed that don't show up in the stats or positive impact. He just safely threw away the ball under pressure with good coverage. That's what a qb is supposed to do.

Secondly, I saw him confidently communicating with his offensive lineman. He wasn't shy to get face to face with them.

He's definitely mentally mature for his age. Physically,, we're fortunate he's not taller. He sure can sling the ball.

Yeah, I know but the last few victories were bittersweet because Hauck and his buddies will be retained.

Stfu and go whine somewhere else. The griz are 7-1 had 2 ranked wins on the road, just pitched a shut out and you want the coaches to leave?? Are you fucking stupid or what?

You can call me anything you want, but I pray it makes you feel better about yourself and you aren't just projecting. If you love Hauck and his 2 OC's, you're in the minority. Hauck 2.0 has gotten nothing done, and it will show against good teams. When there's no coaching, they lose to the perennial doormat N. Arizona.

So other players that went to the portal originally signed to play for the Volleyball coaches and not Hauck and his 2 OC's?

...be careful Hauck police are like the Deep State  Ah Yat is a gift to the Griz, I hope they don't squander
what's be given...I was impressed by his poise in the pocket and accuracy ...he's been taught well!

I too am excited about Ah Yat. He has the poise and the command you want in a quarterback.

But a couple of reservations.

As a senior in high school he completed 117 of 210 passes, or about 56%. You'd like to see that completion rate at 60% or better.

He also ran for 104 yards on 66 attempts and four touchdowns. That, Ah, averages out to 1.57 yards per carry. So he's not a dual-purpose threat.

Last: He impressed us against Northern Colorado, a winless team missing their stud linebacker and without their best tackler who go tossed for targeting. Ideal game to introduce him but need to see him against sterner competition.

But if he's as good as we hope, kudos to this staff for figuring a way to get him so much experience without burning a redshirt year. Brilliant!

Glad we got rid of that player, and glad Ah Yat stayed. Kind of ashamed that it happened in the first place.

Kid may be good, but needs a bigger resume before that determined. Some of you already anointing him as good as father - a couple even have said better. A reminder, his Dad was the greatest qb in Griz history not named Dave.

It’s not fair to him to make that comparison and put that expectation on him.

Ah Yat = National championship
Mark it.

Not with this coaching staff
Pease coached Brian, there will be plenty of eyes watching the development of Ah Yat. This is the perfect storm and Bobby isnt a hack coach. I'm excited for the next few years.

Agreed….should probably tamp down expectations for a while, given that six months ago he was graduating from HS…

But regarding his rushing yardage, remember the sack yardage gets deducted…would love to know how many actual running plays were called (or how many times he was sacked and for what yardage).

I remember when Ah Yat's kid committed to the Griz jokingly posting he was the future...well...maybe that's not a joke. He looked pretty damned good. Definitely inherited the QB gene from his old man.

Imagine having a good QB to develop over a career instead of going to the portal every year for a hired gun.

Too-early-analysis based on too-few-examples but his mechanics looked good. More time at college game speed needed to correct a few judgment mistakes.

I agree. One partial game does not make a career.

I think you guys got a real good one in this young man. Saw him when he played in the first half. He had poise, showed leadership and had some swagger. If the Griz lose another game, he should be given the job and let him loose. Much like the Cats did with Mellot.

Only one game, but lots of similarities here. From the number, to the poise, to the background. Not to draw too many early comparisons, but if he winds up playing anywhere close to the FCS equivalent of Mariota we are in for some fun. Here's to wishful thinking.

Montana beat Davis (they were ranked) and Idaho both on the road! They are good teams

Correction... Idaho is good. Idaho is the ONLY team in the BSC that has dominated the all time series with the Griz... The Griz dominate every other team.

UC Davis has been a good team in years past, not this year

3rd and 23, lets run it up the A gap because THAT makes sense.
Most smart coaches who value the importance of turnovers and field position, do that. They care less about the wishes fans like you who want to be entertained by a Hail Mary.

They were ranked when we played them and they were ranked before losing to NAU and are currently in ORV. Where do we draw the line at “good”?
