Ah Yat gets helmet sticker nod

I think The Griz have not seen this level of elite, complete, and prolonged QB play since JJ. Basically 2011 (by the time JJ returned from the witch-hunt the team was in shambles)

Gufstafson ran like a baby giraffe. LJ, Phillips, and Gresch got hurt or were not long term. Sneed and Clif may have been better runners but not better passers.

220 passer rating is crazy.
Seems like it’s got to be a record for Griz the last 15 years or so although I do recall some one-off QB, like Chalich, having a statistical oddity of a big game.

In 2013, JJ set a Big Sky single-game passing efficiency record of 322.3, when he was 15-of-19-0 for 354 yards and five TDs at North Dakota. The old record was 310.4, set by Eastern Washington's Mark Tenneson in 1992.
Not sure if JJ’s record still stands

UCD’s QB, Pinnick, had a 243 rating this year. 25 of 29 passes for 348 yards and five touchdowns. Looks like that’s the highest BSC passer rating in 2025 so far

They need to work on the pronunciation guide on there. I expect them to have a few more of those helmet stickers going to him in the future. Did Joey call Keali'i Kelly?

I will go on record to say I had no faith in Kay before this season and was wrong. I was beating the drum for Flowers.
I was on the bench on him. I really wanted him to be good. There were times I thought he was going to be great and times I was all about "next". He has really balled out this year. I would love to see him get the Natty his dad didn't.

i kinda figured that hauck was going to bring in a qb he thought was more ready, and give ah yat another year to figure it out. but damn, he figured it out a lot faster than i thought he might. hats off to him, it's obvious he put a ton of work in during the off-season in the weight room, preparing mentally, and during 7-7's, or whatever it is players do to practice without officially practicing. again, kudos to him, the work is paying off.

I was on the fence last year. Thought at times he tried to force a big play. Definitely unfairly judged by many for only being a redshirt Freshman. He looks mature now and will continue to develop. Best in BSC. Glad we have him.

If you want to see something cool, go watch Eli Gillman during that Ah Yat scramble and TD throw in the first quarter. Ay Yat has two thirds of the field yet to cross and Gillman has already separated from his defender and is runing into the endzone waving his arms.
Sandlot football at its finest.
