After winning most games next season, what will be next?

Yeah not sure where conference games suddenly lost value. Winning the conference leads to auto bids and usually higher seeds… and also a ring/ hardware for the program.

No one has said conference games have lost value. But playoff games are, and always have been, of more value. The conf championship has lost some value, due to the uneven schedule.
Definitely agree that it has diluted the meaning of a conference championship for those who have shared the conference title. For those who lose numerous regular season games it doesn’t matter mean much though.

That’s like BH saying the Cat gris game has gotten to be too much since he’s lost most of them in his second stint. The first round he was all about this game.

Now you can’t win the conference so it’s not cool anymore?

Winning the conference means you won the most regular season conference games and can lead to an auto bid which means more home games and a seed for a BSC team. It’s also more hardware for the program.

MSU will have 17-18 year old recruits snapping pics with a 300lb awesome trophy and a conference championship trophy, plus putting on conference rings. Kids these days like bling. If I’m the gris the first part of RTD is winning the conference again.

*the uneven schedule is crap

Actually is absolutely nothing like that. If you believe that what you stated was a logical argument, it begs the question who turned the computer on for you. I'll try to break this down for you and not use a three syllable word.

In the old days every team in the Big Sky played every other team so a clear champ was easy to find. You had to beat the man to be the man. Now in the Big Sky not all the teams play each other so a team can be declared champ without playing other teams. You no longer have to beat the man to be the man.

In the Cat/Griz game, both teams take part so both teams have a fair shot at winning.

Compare the two and it "ain't the same league. It ain't the same fuckin' sport." Sam Jackson.

Ok, winning the conference isn’t important. :) I agree

Again, your response is confusing. I didn't say winning the conference wasn't important. I just pointed out that your comparison was flawed. Your inability to understand not only what others are saying but even what you are saying is an excellent advertisement for the education one receives at the University of Montana.

No I agree: conference games and conference titles aren’t important, you don’t play everyone, thus non-important like you suggested. Only playoff games. It’s all good.

I would rather have been UM the past 3 seasons overall than Sac St. SS is welcome to its 1 playoff win and 3 conf championships. I will take UM’s 3 playoff wins. Of course. everyone would like more. SS was an embarrassment to the conference. Winning the conference didn’t win more playoff games for SS.

Agree...sac was trash....gotta advance through that bracket. It's the only thing that matters!

Again, you haven't come close to understanding what you are reading. I never said any of the things you are agreeing with, so I don't know where that is coming from. This goes back to your statement that winning or not winning the conference is the same as winning or not winning the Cat/Griz game. That statement is illogical and I only pointed out why that comparison is, that is all.

You fail to grasp what’s being said: this thread is a product of not winning the conference as of late and now certain posters believe winning the conference has “lost value” which last time I checked, isn’t true based on the auto-bid, a higher seed, and hardware (everyone wants hardware these days).

To pair that with not winning Cat/gris much as of late. Ole BH thinks the game is becoming too much. But back in the day he used to want “5 quarters”.

They go hand in hand, a lack of winning big games has led to forum posters and a head ball coach trying to devalue them. Just noticing a trend. Because “only playoff games matter”. I dislike that I had to take the time to spell this out for you, but oh well. Enjoy the read.

You're trying to conflate your original statement. You said that not winning the Conference was the same as not winning the Cat/Griz. Just answer this then, can you win the BSC without playing all the other teams that compete for it? Part two: Can you win the Cat/Griz without playing all the other teams that compete for it? If your answer is yes to both questions we are done, if the answer is no; then you understand the comparison is illogical. That is all.

You can thank Foolerton for this clusterfock mess of a conference.

Sask, what is it, again, that you teach? English, as I recall. Your 'three syllable' comment was excellent. Ever watch 'The Magnificent Seven'(2016)?

Not at all, my point just highlights the irony. Some people hate from outside of the club. Back when the Gris were winning conference titles regularly and winning Cat/gris regularly, they would laugh in the face of Bobcat fans who tried to say “pshhh, winning the conference isn’t even that cool”. Or “winning the great divide, we just don’t care enough”.

Now, all I see is a cross state rival HC say it’s too much and fans are saying on threads that winning the conference isn’t cool anymore, like they have some bigger fish to fry.

You just have such an inability to actually comprehend the point others make that it becomes frustrating. Your point is clear. You just refuse to actually engage in any points others are make, and repeat yourself. It's not even conversation. You're this board's equivalent of the guy at the baseball game talking at the annoyed girl.

I'm really looking forward to your username being a notch on my betting belt.

Can I use this as my bio?
