First of all, no way Bobby steps down to lead NAU. He's gunning for the SDSU job & will get it when the current HC retires, unless he takes an FBS head coaching job elsewhere in the meantime.
Re. Souers - I have several friends who are long time NAU fans & live in Flag. For many years, at least 10, the consensus among them is "Fire Souers, we are tired of losing. Why can't NAU get a better coach?" The current AD is a mover & a shaker and wants to keep the locals happy & wants to win. She has made other coaching changes at NAU & now it's her time to replace Jerome. The fans in Flag aren't the best, due to the lackluster performance of the football team. Fans do come out when NAU is winning, but very mediocre fan base when they aren't. No much love for the team, nothing like the Griz fan base. The AD wants to change that.
Re. the new coach - Andy Thompson, former Griz linebacker & DC, has got to be on the list, but a nationwide search will be made or is already ongoing.
