After end of NDSU game

Is it really "home field advantage," or are they just a great team? AG1 says its not as loud, so what exactly is the advantage, other than not having to travel, and familiarity, which all home teams have?

It is my understanding the NDSU Bison do not have a stadium but they are nothing more than squatters in the Fargo Dome.

I had this thought earlier as well. I think that Washington-Grizzly stadium truly does have a home field advantage that is tough for teams to overcome. When we had our worst team in 2012, visiting teams still had to fight hard to get wins in WGS. I have heard people also make comments about the Fargodome not being that loud, which would suggest that the team being so good is what makes it a tough place to play. I'm sure NDSU fans will disagree.

Playing football in a dome is a lot like a good basketball atmosphere. For example, even for a 1:30 p.m. game you can make it pitch dark and introduce the team with spotlights, have glow-sticks and fireworks, and crap like that. It's a much more controlled pre-game atmosphere. Fargo does it well.
But having said that, I wouldn't trade it for the football experience in Missoula even if NDSU won 19 championships in a row.
Good debate... with that said, talk is cheap. Our home field advantage gets weaker every five years or so due to same people who have been attending games for entertainment purposes aging and not providing the same raucous contribution as once delivered. NEZ not applicable to the discussion because the youth of its existence.
Unfortunately, also I feel like the price ceiling has been met and we will see less families and younger folks traveling and attending games, especially with them all televised. The young active citizens in Missoula just will not be the difference when numbers in seats continue to subside. A new coach, price sustainment for a few years, and exciting play on the field can serve as the saving grace.

In the last 4 years, so many games have been blowouts that the crowd was really not a factor. I will also say though that the 2012 Georgia Southern game was the loudest I have ever heard a stadium, including attending NFL games in Denver and Minnesota and also being in Lincoln a few times to watch Nebraska.

App State we beat at home and lost to on the road. Same with Cal Poly as examples. I believe that the Griz rely much more on the advantage of WA-Griz than the Bison do on the Fargodome. Facts seem to support my argument.
Before the EWU game I titled a post "Why don't we do it on the road?" It was more than a metaphorical question. If we are to return to a team that can compete for the NC we have to be able to do more than take advantage of our home field. We need to field a team that can win anywhere - like NDSU has done the last 4 years.
The last 4 years the Griz are 23-6 (.793) at home and 12-8 (.600) away.

Like I mentioned earlier. "If we get a new coach (Stitt) before next season we will roll da Bison".
Bison will be in deep soft buffalo chips while playing in Wa Griz. Sound, Sun and Stitt will overwhelm them and before they know it they will be playing from behind. Yup, that's when the buffalo chips begin to fall.

NDSU has played in far more intimidating environments than Washington Grizzly stadium in the last few years. Will have a very talented senior QB at the helm who won his first career start on the road against a Big 12 team and 55k fans. I think NDSU will handle the pressure of Washington Grizzly just fine.

This is not smack...just an observation...carry on.
At home, in Missoula, a lovely little western city. No place I'd rather be.
