@ajmazzolini: Owen, a LB with the 2s in spring, has left the program, source w/i the athletic dept confirmed. No word yet on reason behind the falling out

@ajmazzolini: Owen appeared in 11 games last season, making 7 tackles (3 solo). He had 16 tackles the year before w/ 1 INT and fumble recovery.

I believe he started out a safety, then moved to linebacker, then moved to defensive end and finally back to linebacker this the spring. It is difficult to make an impression doing all that moving, but I'm assuming they kept moving him hoping for the right fit for his skill set. His highlight tape from high school was incredible with his safety play - one of the better ones I have seen in the past 10 years. At the time he signed I thought he would be the gem of the class. I was told he struggled at linebacker making the reads so maybe that wasn't a good fit. He probably outgrew the safety position with his size and he wasn't quite big enough for d-end. Unfortunately, every year there is a talented player that doesn't quite make it for some reason. Sorry to see this didn't work out. Good luck to Addison!

I agree. It is too bad. He was a good talent.....

Had a great punt block and recovery in the homecoming game this year to set the tone early. Best of luck, Addison, where ever life takes you.

Is he transfering? Probably a situation where he recogignized he wasn't going to get much playing time and wants to finish his Sr year ON the football feild, not standing of to the side of it. I get it. Wish him the best of luck
