Obviously Ammo isn't as good as Kobe.......I don't think anyone ever said that.....as I look back on the posts, nope, nobody said that.
The point with comparing Kobe's rookie stats with Ammo's was to show Swill how big of an idiot he is by saying that Ammo is one of the 5 worst players in the NBA. I would say that averaging 12 a game isn't even in the lower half of the NBA. As far as him being "overhyped", how can anyone say that? How good do you have to be to deserve the recognition that he got?

In the regular season, he had 13 games of 30-plus points, with five of them over 40. At 28.1 points per game, he was the nation's leading scorer in 2005-2006. His scoring totals against teams in the "major" conferences, he averaged 28.5 points in 11 such games. On February 18, Morrison recorded a career high 44 (including 37 in the second half alone) points against Loyola Marymount Lions in a winning effort.

P.S. This was his junior year

You can't name very many players in the history of college basketball that could take over a game like Morrison could! It is just sad how two years go by and everyone forgets. He deserved all the recognition he got, he was not overhyped in the least.
 
Just for fun I looked to see where Ammo ranked in scoring in the league his rookie season: 78th

Did you know that all these players averaged lower scoring numbers than Ammo?
Gooden, Battier, Fischer, Abdur-Rahim, Finley, Morris Peterson, Mourning, A. Walker, Kirilenko, McDyess, Bynum, Posey, Farmar, Vujacic.

Just to name a few.
One of the worst 5 players in the NBA Swill???

I wouldn't go as far as saying he is one of the 5 worst players but being a good player isn't all about scoring. He is a defensive liability. He doesn't hustle anymore. He in my opinion doesn't show any heart. He isn't a leader. He doesn't make his team any better. All he really does is shoot and shoot and shoot some more.

But hey we aren't the only ones discussing this.

Oh my goodness!!! Saying Adam Morrison is one of the 5 worst players in the NBA, and was over-hyped coming out of college completely destroys one's credibility. Why?

1. Because he is obviously NOT one of the 5 worst in the NBA; saying so is like saying 2+2=1,183,280.
2. Because saying he was over-hyped commits oneself to believing one is better at assessing talent than NBA general managers and scouts.

I don't think either position is wise for a half-illiterate undergrad at UM to take. I've said it before, but Swilly, please stop posting such ridiculous drivel because you are reducing the value of every UM grad's degree. Hold on a sec Swill now I know you have totally lost it!!!! You are talking about defense in the NBA????? Since when does anyone in the NBA play defense??? Didn't Kobe make the first team all defense one year?? If Kobe can make it to an all defensive team that should show you the state of defense in the NBA.....defense in the NBA, Funny shit Swill....keep 'em coming, I love your comic routine.

P.S. Never said anything about Morrison being a savior....I still hate the NBA and always will, but I know that he isn't one of the 5 worst players in the league, and of course you missed that point for the 5th time!!

Yes, I am admitting that I don't like the NBA. And no, you don't know more about the NBA than I do, just because I don't like it doesn't mean that I don't know about it. All I am saying is that you are an idiot if you seriously think that Morrison is one of the worst 5 in the NBA. Then your argument was that he isn't good on defense???? I don't understand that logic because the NBA is not known for the players playing tough defense. Ron Artest is good on defense, Ben Wallace is good on defensse, Bruce Bowen is good on defense......none of these players is a "great" scorer. My point....Morrison is a scorer, there are no scorers that play great defense. It's a fact of the league.

And before you even go there..........Kobe is not a great defender.
