AD Finalists Announced

I think its a good list of candidates for any FCS school. I am impressed with what Clapp has done at St. Mary's. He went into that position with a fledging athletic department and the loss of football really can't be pegged on him. He was able to rebuild support for their athletic programs, grow the number of scholarships, and hire the right people to build some successful programs, including one of the best midmajor basketball programs. Haslam would be very good in my opinion. He already has the relationships in place and knows the dynamic of the community, which puts him way ahead of the curve. I'm less excited about the other 2, although King has some very good credentials as well.

This is for both you & PR. First, I agreed with AG1 who called the Griz program "the dirtiest thugfest." I thought I'd be more polite, calling it corruption.

If you don't think calling the "program" a thugfest is painting everyone in it with the same broad (and horribly inaccurate) brush then there truly is no help for you. I think the dozens and dozens of young gentlemen who wrote the letter last Spring to Griz fans would vehemently disagree with your misguided opinion of the "program". :roll: :roll:

A program involves much more than just the players, and that's what I'm getting at & what I think RE is getting at. It includes the boosters as well as UM administration, the coaches, and the players.

Got it. So the players, coaches, administration and boosters are ALL a "thugfest". :roll: :roll: :roll:

I cannot cite specific names at UM. I'm just extrapolating from stories in the press around this country over the years.

The Griz football team is bad to the bone??? Cat fans are good to the bone? I know that because it was in the Bozeman news paper? oola you need to get a grip! Left the Griz off, not sure you deserve it.

Some that write about the AD and Griz coaches would help themselves by becoming more familiar with them. Learn for themselves the first hand information they are attempting to visit about. They all are available and easy to talk with. It is easy to criticize.......It is hard to state the factual truth and provide the evidence to back it up.

Forget my anger lets talk about the Finalists: Actually they all seem good. My pick as I stated before was based on what I read in the bio of each and I did do some quick research, so I have my reasons. Nothing bad in any of them so the new AD should be good for our program. Kent I know and like and is a damn fine young man. I simply doubt that RE will pick him because he is in "house." Only reason I picked him third and it is a shame if that is the case. Clapp was (as pointed out by highline griz) a great man for what he did in his previous gig. King also did some good things.

As to what does happen concerning RE's pick I do not have a clue. Again, I think we will end up with a decent man.
