Activists Disrupt Harvard-Yale Rivalry Game To Protest Climate Change

Yale scored 17 in the 4th Q to tie, and then won 53-40 in double OT, almost in the dark. Bowl doesn't have lights.

"Officials say 42 people were charged with disorderly conduct after a protest interrupted a Saturday football game between archrivals Harvard and Yale.
Students and alumni from both schools occupied the midfield of the Yale Bowl during Saturday’s halftime protest. Some held banners urging their colleges to act on climate change. Other signs referred to Puerto Rican debt relief and China’s treatment of Uighurs.

Most protesters walked off after about an hour; those who remained were charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct. They were issued a court summons and released, according to a statement from Yale University."

The Griz could have used some protesters yesterday.
Awesome story PR sounds like one for the ages. Packed house at Yale Bowl at the classic American rival game “The Game”, Ivy League title on the line, 4 1/2 hours, double OT, no lights, mid field protesters, what a fucking game to be at. The same handful of boomers who seem to constantly whine and complain about this generation of millennials obviously never had the sticks pulled out of their asses from their own college days. Thank you sir may I have another. It’s called fucking college fellas, college.

Back in the day, when granolas protested at the Griz- Idaho B-Ball game they got pelted with potatoes and drug off by the hair...

I long for those days....

I’ve been to many Griz B-ball games over the years but I missed that one. I couldn’t have participated though as I’ve never brought potatoes with me to a game. I might have to start just in case.

The “Protest” Culture has grown tiresome.

There’s a great indie movie called ‘Harvard beats Yale 29-29’. Fun football movie. Tommy Lee Jones is in it. He played guard for Harvard the year of ‘The Game’ 1968

It's a terrific movie. Calvin Hill and Brian Dowling were seniors for Yale that year.

Many have heard if Hill, fewer of Dowling. Played for the Patriots as I remember... 1973 for sure

Hill was first round pick of Cowboys. Was the rookie of the year. Now, he's just Grant Hill's dad. Brian Dowling is "BD" in Doonebury. Lots of people have heard of BD. Also, "Calvin" is in Doonesbury. The writer of Doonesbury, Gary Trudeau, was Dowling and Hill's classmate at Yale. Class of '69.

"Hill acknowledged a desire to play in a stadium with a large seating capacity, and was impressed by the large crowd, more than 70,000, watching Yale defeat Dartmouth 24-15 at the Yale Bowl during a visit, October 31, 1964."

The second day of practices at Yale, the coaching staff shifted Hill to linebacker on the freshman team

Lots of good articles on Dowling. He was the last 4 sport letterman at Yale. Football, basketball, baseball and tennis. He chose Yale over Ohio St and other good schools.

There is only one thing left to do....choose up sides and play a spontaneous tackle football game at the next climate summit.
