I just hope that the jury comes back with a quick verdict so we can go into the weekend with this shit show done with.

Baffles me that they (national media) have spent so much time on this trial and have broken it down as much as they have.

Almost hate to say it because it is bad attention, but the more the national media covers this trial and this whole investigation mess, and puts legitimate resources such as sending their own reporters to Missoula or filming the trial themselves rather than just quoting bits and pieces of the Missoulian as fact, the better off the University will be. When the national media has put their own resources in to this, and investigated it themselves, we have seen the most unbiased over views of the whole mess. Think the ESPN article by the investigative journalist that mentioned evidence and arguments in the case that the Missoulian didn't even acknowledge existed, or these GMA pieces. Abrams has no horse in the race.

The Missoulian is nothing but an irrelevant embarrassment. It has nothing whatsoever to do with journalism. It is a sad footnote in Missoula's history.

and sooooooooooo much better than the local "news" media...

I have made it a point to keep my opinions too myself about this trial.
However, to me its really simple I have two basic items that I want to point out.

1) Roomate in "very" close proximity; hears no cries for help, no audible request or commands that would indicate "non-consent"
2) After fixing snack(s) supposed victim gives (alledged rapist) ride home. Placing her alone with supposed rapist for another extended period of time

I dont know about you but this is my WTF moments!
My belief is that this young lady was pressure by a few perticular board members, administrators, staff and media to push the issue. This is where the text campaign excellerated.

End of the day, ask yourself...could you ruin a persons life and send a young man to jail under the accusation of rape for that?

:?: :?: :?:

This is a snap shot of this ABC video. When Johnson was on the stand, saying Doe did not say no, this was the look on Townsend's face. The look says it all about what she thinks.

I noticed that as well, and I thought, "oh man, there's a point that a well-intentioned judge is going to be hugely embarrassed when jurors, after a trial is over, start making public comments about the demeanor of the judge during the trial."

Great point. I did not mean to say or incinuate that they shouldn't be looking into it and that the Missoulian is/would do any better. This has received coverage over several days and it just surprised me that it was receiving this type of spotlight from GMA
